    Voicemail Notification.

My voicemail costs me a small fortune to listen to so I hardly bother.

But My Samsung S keeps the notification at the top until I listen to the damn thing

Any help in getting rid without having to listen to VM ?

How about pulling down the notification bar and just pressing the "Clear" button?

Use Call Alert To Replace 901 Voicemail (O2 UK)

I have switched the voicemail off from my carrier. If people want to contact me, they can always call again or leave me a text message

I am with O2 and they have this feature call "Call Alert" which will send you a text message behalf of the caller with their phone number and the time of the miss call...etc

Click here for the instruction of how to set it up(O2 UK Only):

O2 Call Alert is a simple, easy-to-use alternative to Voicemail 901. It provides missed call information for up to four callers, at no extra cost, by sending you a text message update.

So, if you're on another call or your mobile's switched off, if you're out of coverage or you just don't answer in time, O2 Call Alert will tell you the caller's number and the last time they called.

But it's not just you who benefits from the service. Callers also hear a message telling them that their number's being sent to you via text message, to let you know they called. (Although, if anyone decides to withhold their number, you won't be sent the missed call text and they'll be told to call again later.)

T-mobile. Called them at work today and they re-sent a voicemail deactivation but it didn't work so I requested a callback from their technical team at around 6pm but they haven't called
