When should I upgrade my Samsung S2 ?

Why bother you ask! Well it's 2 years old working well, has everything I think it needs.
And I am now going into an era when the capital has been paid and I don't make many calls or use away from wifi. So I could be looking forward to cheap phoning.
Are the later versions that much better? What am I missing out on? Who knows?

Of course the later version are better than S2 but not for you. As you seems to be satisfied with Samsung S2 itself.

The change from s2 to s3 was great I thought,. The big screen is a revelation for pics/vids/internet. Speed is really fast, better battery life, too many features to list but if you are happy there is no rush you could always wait for the s5 next year!

What you should ask yourself "Do I want the latest and greatest" or "Everything still works very well, I love you phone"

    I've used the S, S2, S3 and S4.

I currently have the S3. The S was a good phone and only updated because I wanted a new phone, of course with the right deal. Otherwise I would of stayed put and be thinking about an S4 instead. Now I'll see what the S5 brings or if any other phones catch my eye.

I suggest the only real difference to you would be screen size and resolution. But then you may find the S3 or 4 too big if you are happy with the S2.
I could be wrong, I usually am. (Because it's only a phone)

Or that the S2 is just that bit too small

I'll be keeping my S2 either until it let's me down or I feel I am missing out on some important new feature.
For now I'll be enjoying the economy of a SIM only contract

I should point out that I kept using my Nokia Rubber 5210 for ten years.
I like to get my money's worth.

Most older phones didn't change much, just got smaller. Then touch screens started to take off and new OS's came out. Now they're not changing much, just getting bigger
