Ringtone/Message Tones

I have some old ringtones in a folder on my computer I want to put on my SGS and when I connected via usb (mass storage) I got a message saying "insert card".

I havent got a memory card in, just the internal storage at the moment, how can I get round this or will I have to install Kies?

1. Make sure usb cable is not connected to the phone.
2. Settings > About phone > USB Settings > Select "Ask on connection"
3. Connect usb cable to the phone

Once prompted, select Mass storage and see if it still prompts you that error?

Yes I am afraid so, cant seem to get the phone to show just says insert card. I connected with wmp but want to try mass storage.

So you connected using "Media Player" option and it works?

And you want to try Mass storage? Didnt you just say it didnt work?

Sorry, not making much sense. I dont have my music in wmp so was trying to drag it directly from my itunes folder using mass storage. But when I try to connect to mass storage it just says insert card?

After select "Mass Storage", did you pull down the notification bar on your phone and choose "Mount" under USB connection?

Whoa thanks for that! Worked a treat, it didn't tell you that in the instruction manual. Only had the phone yesterday so very green having swapped from iphone, cheers.

Yes, , took me a long time to figure that out too. Samsung has improved it in Froyo, so when you select mass storage, it will actually stay on a screen where there is a big button to ask you to mount it. Hopefully we will get this Froyo release in Sep
