Sounds like you need to do a wipe data/factory reset. We always recommend doing this after any firmware update to make sure there are no conflicts between the old and new firmwares.
It could be the phone has carrier branded firmware and your carrier hasn't released an update. You may have to update it manually using odin.

The latest firmware for the tab 10.1 is ICS and it wont be getting JB or any other firmware updates. You could go for one of the many custom roms that are available for your tab 10.1.
