I'l either buy this or something using tegra 2, if mali 400 is faster as Samsung claim then I want to see proof otherwise I'll buy something else.
The anandtech results are a real put off,...
Play are usually overpriced on new phones, shop around on release and you will get it for less.
Anyone remember what the they were selling the Galaxy S for on release?
I don't see skyhook anywhere, not under app settings or SUPL/CP.
Well it's more powerful and it doesnt have to push as many pixels either due to the lower resolution screen so it should be easy.
Only thing that might let down the Galaxy S is memory, or lack of...
Yep, they sent me another one, in case I keep having trouble the guy suggesting changing, it's easy enough to transfer to another sim card using there website.
I'm curious, will the new one...
Strangely it started working when I got to work this morning but gave them a call anyway, they couldn't explain the problem but suggested it could be something to do with the Orange/T-Mobile merger....
I will contact them first chance I get tomorrow, I guess I could also pickup another sim card and transfer the number.
This assuming the problem is with the sim card.
So I tried a GPS fix last night using Clockwork Recovery, tried it a first time and nothing seemed to happen so tried again but this time it's done a data/cache wipe, I think,
However since...
"It does seem to vary from phone to phone but also can vary a lot over time on an individual handset, one day it works fine, the next, under the same conditions, it doesn’t"
Not from my...
Maybe but they would never admit to it.
The GPS does kind of work, so long as I'm not driving or in a building so useless as sat nav, have you tested it on the road?
Worse, bascally any phone with working GPS is better than the Galaxy S, in comparison using the free GPS test from the market my HTC Legend locks 9 satellites indoors well my Galaxy S with froyo...
Every firmware i've tried has been the same, JM2, JM8, JPK, JPM etc, GPS hasnt improved or got any worse.
However it would be difficult to be any worse. lol
The GPS is useless, completely useless.
I still use my old HTC legend in the car for satnav, Galaxy S can't get a lock unless I stop and stick my hand out the window.
Stilll no GPS fix, yay.
Using JPK with OCLF, no problems at all.
Well except the dodgy GPS.
Thanks, works after doing all three.
Anyone else notice the colour is different with this firmware? it's like a weird tint to the display now.
Not sure I like this.
Having a problem flashing this, used the 803pit and files frm samfirmware using re-partition and getting errors, only gets as far as Samsung logo then black screen.... :/
Just keep using JetVD for now, even playing videos in 2.2 with flash 10.1 looks like crap.
They need to sort this out.
Well the lag fix wouldnt effect the score, it's better than stock but still not where you would expect performance to be.
Snapdragon devices are scoring around 30+ Mflops with 2.2, we have a long...
Allot of folk are claiming this is the official version, however GPS still sucks, same crappy file systems, mono radio still and benchmark scores have not improved.
I hope this is still beta...
Yep, make sure you install one, I've already got what looks like a small scratch/fracture on my screen, at first I thought I had somrething on the screen but realised it's not coming off. Little...
Hows JM8? downloaded but not sure what CSC file to use.
Thanks, will check these out when I can.
xda website seems to be down atm.
Looking to flash as just tried Voodoo lag fix which has messed up screen brightness when set to lowest, screen looks very dull with red tint even after removing it.. Not good.
So want to flash,...
