Hi all, been a while since I've been on here!
I was wondering if you could all spare 20 seconds of your time to give me a hand with a research project I'm doing for one of my modules. I'm studying...
Ah that's ok then as his JVS doesn't have it ;)
I got bored of it long ago lol. Tweakys is good, it's the first pretty much stock ROM I've enjoyed. I hate stock normally but this is fast with good battery life :) I'm waiting for JVS TW4 ad ons :)
Ahh rookie mistake forgetting to do a backup! ALWAYS do a backup. Anyway, back to trying to help ;)
What did you try and install that failed and messed it up? Try flashing the speedmod kernel off...
Hvae you tried the basics? Rebooting? Copying them off and on again, has the phone done a media scan?
GG
Another method would be to flash stock JVQ first then Darkys. Follow the guide I've written a page or so back, it's all there...
Rash,
Please head back to this thread as you keep hijacking other posts lol. Ive written a detailed guide a few pages back on how to do this....

To do this, download a free unzipper or something as the Firmware has been zipped up. I recommend Winrar http://www.rarlab.com/. Download 32bit or 64 bit according to your PC. (32bit will work on...
Lol - I could try it, but I'm back at uni now (3rd year) so don't have the time xD
The kernel on JVS seems to be good. I'm on Tweakys JVS (slightly modded stock JVS) and it's been running 16h 38m...
It's absolutely rubbish, FCs on various things and the Galaxian kernel is a piece of ****. I'm losing respect for the Galaxian dev now, he keeps larking around with various things that do absolutely...
I have a lot of apps that sync with the network so this is pretty amazing for me ;)
As others have said switch browsers or hold down the power button to turn data off, IDEALLY if you can, you might want to look into putting a Data package on your tariff just for peace of mind as...
For those of you who want a clean stable 2.3.5 that's as close to stock as possible give this ROM a go...

I've been on it 2 weeks now...
I've been through almost every ROM on XDA for the SGS and have settled on Tweakys ROM. It by far the fastest I've been on. JVR + TW4 Add on is really good.
He's just released a JVS version though...
Is it any good? any improvements?
Someones been busy!
Thanks Richard, very useful!

As some others have said - Put the phone into mass storage, Edit > Settings > Wireless & Network > Mass storage. Plug it into computer and browse the card. Delete everything in the DCIM (I think).

For those that CAN get into recovery, you'll see the very basic commands, there will only be around 2-3 of them. What you need to do to manually browse your phone for files on your SD card is to...
Haha, Sarah have you given into temptation and given it a go yet?
Doesn't look like it has stock camera and he mentoined that it didn't have stock music player either....I'm not bothered about radio and that crud xD
It also lacks a lot of MIUI stuff, it'll...
Haha, it's funny you should send that as I was literally just about to flash RC2 back on, I've tried so many ROMs today and all have been naff/had issues....
Back to RC2 I go....
Ah thanks Sarah. I tried that too this morning and got told the same thing. The only thing I could switch to was CM7 :/ hmm.
Nope but I'm back home tomorrow so all is well with the world again :)
