That's a big leap!
If I was a mod I'd move your post to where it might get more attention - a new thread would be best for your question :)
Well I'm still happy with my S1
Isn't that because you were not logged in? What do they call it? Word skimming or something? It's only for the unclean masses ;)
"Carbotanium" - straight from Stonkr's cranium! :)
I've not come across a way of relaxing the global permissions so the only way round it I know is to use an app that supports the required permissions. Gmail for example supports lots of file types...
Task killers are only useful if apps are misbehaving. The main drain on the battery is the screen. Apps that either run the processor too much and stop it sleeping or worse still keep the modem Tx...
I need something to be excited about. What's the mostexciting thing? Or is it dangerous to get too exciteted and perhaps I should go for something mildly interesting instead?
It seems to be something to do with the Android operating system file permissions granted to applications. I found that the Gmail application works ok for sending attachments of quite a few file...
Rain later. Now I feel a bit of a prisoner. Be seeing you! ;)
I seem to have had some success blocking - com.sec.android.app.samsungapps.una - no more ads for a couple of days and battery life seems to be much better in standby.
Does anyone know what it does?
Hi Goots,
I'm so glad you said that - I don't feel so old hat any more - I'm still on my trusty I9000 despite it falling in a river and then a canal - me with it...
Hi Stonkr,
I've no add blocker installed as such but was using Avast firewall for the same propose and it did work fine but at some point has been bypassed. It's interesting that whatever has...
That won't take long then tee hee - I'm always looking for short cuts me ;) I suppose I could split all apps into two groups and block one group, then reverse to the other group, then when I find...
I have Avast security installed and have the firewall set to block some of the free apps but recently I've noticed them managing to display banner adverts. This seems to coincide with a doubling of...
To keep on topic - I must say that the Avast anti theft security is rather neat. The ability to track your phone and trace its movement on a map, set off an alarm siren, send display messages, reboot...
Thanks for the suggestion. There were about five different similarly named apps and I tried them all but nothing was found unfortunately :(
Hi Guys,
You'll probably know the answer to this and I'm probably missing something obvious ... I've got the excellent Avast installed and one of the benefits I found a while ago was the ability...
Did you ever pull your school jumper over your head? I did once and got told off so much for stretching it I thought the world had come to an end. Taught me a lesson ;)
I wonder if predictions about the end of the world will ever come to an end?
And why is it that people who lived a long time ago, are presumed by some to have known more then, than we know now? I...
Well Happy New Year to you :)
Dreams are cheaper than lottery tickets. Can I interest you in my money saving scheme? ;)
You could apply some string theory to stop you losing it. I've got my S1 on a loop wrist band to stop me dropping it. Good insurance in the bath ;) I noticed you can't attach a loop to the S3 though...
Surprised it's still going on what with elf and safety.
Thanks for trying. It's usually Word files, pdf, Excel etc. over Wi-Fi or phone network that I have problems with. I don't use the stock email for Yahoo as it won't do push so I installed the Yahoo...
