In fact my first post is probably confusing since I didn't apply an update.zip but in fact just installed Rom manager from the app store. I then select "reboot into recovery" but as I say it just...
Hi,
I've installed the following:
PDA: I9000XWJS7
PHON: I9000ZSJPG
CSC: I9000XEEJS1
I installed CWM, then remembered I should have rooted first so I rooted, uninstalled CWM and...
Hi,
I have loaded two SVOX language packs, english and french. When I use google translate and press the sound icon next to a french word it says "speaking in french" but actually uses the...
Hi,
I flashed JPO yesterday with repartitioning using the 803 pit (I read somewhere it was the most recent pit and 512 is for eclair ROMs). However, when I tried to install Vlingo it just caused...
Ok, I upgraded using these files from jpk to jpo. I ticked repartitioning as I wasn't coming from JPM and used the .803 pit file. The phone upgraded and rebooted fine and everything seems to be...
Ok thanks for the advice about repartitioning. I've downloaded the .803 pit file and plan to use that - I'm assuming that's the one to use rather than .512 but I'm not entirely sure. I had in fact...
I'm on jpk and plan to use these instructions to move up to JPO. Does anyone here know of any reason why I shouldn't do this ? Would it be safer to tick the repartition box for example (I'm not even...
Ok great thanks very much.
Hi all,
I installed JPK using ODIN and then applied the OCLF. Because I had previously used the registry hack to download JPM from Kies my CSC was XEE. I changed it back to XEU by entering the...
I tried the registry hack to download the swedish froyo via Kies. It all worked fine and I quite enjoyed watching flash movies on the bbc news website. But then the problems started.
1) The...
I'm also looking for another email client but haven't found a good one yet. The samsung client has three key problems for me:
1) It is way too slow. I don't get a 5 minute wait like the original...
Hi all,
I used the registry hack to flash jp6 using kies yesterday. I'm in the uk on an unbranded phone using the vodafone network.
The upgrade went smoothly and most things seem to work fine...
I would also like to be able to dim the screen more for nighttime use.
A backup option on kies before a firmware update to save all applications and settings. I've heard about some backup apps you...
Besides the usual phone, sms and emailing (which I do a lot) I mainly use it for:
browsing - mostly bbc weather, tvguide.co.uk, cinema listing sites and the independent newspaper
rss feeds -...
myPlayer ( for those in the uk to watch bbc iplayer)
rockplayer ( for watching movies downloaded from the iplayer)
jorte (for a good month view calendar widget)
springpad ( note taking app that...
I noticed today when the camera froze again that there was actually a padlock icon on the screen which isn't there normally. I also wondered if it had frozen because I hadn't touched the screen in a...
Several times now the camera application has hung on me. None of the buttons or menus respond except the power button. The only option seems to be to turn the phone off and on again. Does anyone else...
Right now my SGS tells me it has a solid wifi connection (Signal Strength: Excellent, Speed: 72Mbps, Security: Secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK). However, whenever I try to access a web page in the browser...
I'm using this.
http://www.portapow.co.uk/portapowPremium.htm
It's 5000mAh and will charge the phone about 3.5 times. Cost £29.50. It comes with two USB out ports so you can charge two...
I get this too from time to time. The wifi tells me it has a solid signal but the data connection doesn't work. I haven't managed to work out how to reliably fix it - I usually reboot the router...
My phone does something similar. I get a much better signal if I don't cover the bulge at the bottom. I haven't had any dropped calls but data speeds are definitely worse if I cover the bottom of...
I would agree with the others and advise you to stick with it for a while. My initial impressions were also disappointing - mainly over the lag when opening some apps (mostly the dialer actually), ...
This will not work until Froyo comes out which includes Flash 10.1.
In the meantime a much better solution is the fantastic application myPlayer. This not only allows you to stream programs to...
When I forward an email the "quoted text" is not part of the text entry block but part of a separate display element. Long pressing on it does nothing so there are no options to change it or cut...
