I did use the kies registry trick to get froyo early, sorry for building peoples hopes up! I can tell you that everything is so much faster with gingerbread. Almost like a new phone!
I am in the UK with a unbranded GT-I9000 and have updated - see above. Think Kies only lets you upgrade via USB.
I am running version 2.0.0.11032_12 - have attached the Kies info page showing gingerbread firmware - impressed so far.

UK upgrade out on Kies now.
Thanks for the advice. I know alot of people use a dvd ripper then handbrake but I like the one click option of DVDfab! I will have a play and let you have my findings.
Just wondered if anyone uses DVDFab to convert DVDs for their Galaxy S and if so what settings work the best for you?
Have just upgraded ok, is anyone else having problems with it crashing after checking for a firmware update?
I just ordered these batts and charger, offered the seller £5 which was accepted!!
I like the samsung desktop dock, surely a 3rd party manufacturer must release a clone of it soon, especially if we have no dates from Samsung.
take a look at the Krusell pouch I have posted, fits the Galaxy S and only £7.99.
Since getting my SGS I have been looking for a decent pouch to protect it when travelling etc and have found the Krusell Luna. The reviews I have read so far seem good and at £7.99 on play.com didn't...
Hi everyone, having gleaned some useful info from the forum since getting my SGS I thought it was about time I joined! This is my first dabble with Android but all is going well so far! :)
