hi snakeater! i am having a problem with my samsung galaxy S .. actually i bought it in Dubaii, but i am using it in Mauritius.. it is unlock and not branded.. but the problem is that i cannot go in recovery mode/ download mode.. can you plz help?? thx

my name is mohammad, i've encountered a problem in upgrading my galaxy s to froyo, and i read in a post, that recommends to refer to you, because your are THE GUY that can at least tell me what to do..

I live in Jordan, and i have an unlocked phone (not branded), also I have installed the latest Kies software, connected my galaxy s and proceeded to the firmware update, the pop up opens and i see the following:

Model Name:GT-I9000
Current Version: PDA:GJ8/PHONE:JG2/CSC:JG9
This device version cant be updated

i noticed that there is another member "ihy2000" who also had the same problem :S
plz can you tell us what is the problem, and if there is a solution to it?

I'm Baaaaack!! God I really missed the forums I was supposed to be back from my trip on the 30th of july but we kind of 'Extended' our stay, but nevertheless finally i'm at home and can't wait to see what i've been missing here for the past three weeks

Ok here is my plan:
1- I'm gonna flood the forums with posts (useful posts hopefully)
2- share with you pictures and videos from my vacation
3-update my existing threads

guys it was an honor for me to meet helpful and energetic members like you god bless you all and be safe

i'll be back at the 30th of July hopefully and I know i'm gonna miss you and miss this forum
