Hi, just bought my first Samsung, the S3 Mini i8190.... very impressed with the phone but the camera has me baffled.

The quality of the photos is very poor compared to my old phone, the Blackberry 9105 which also has a 5mp camera,

I even took some photos outdoors, in good light, of objects with my S3 Mini & my daughters Galaxy Mini with a 2mp camera and it out-performs mine,

My camera feels like its a 1mp!!!!

I've played around with all the settings in the camera but every photo is poor,

Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated,

thanks

SamMobile have posted an article - I9300XXUFME3 – Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean leaked

"We of SamMobile would like to give you the latest I9300XXUFME3 – Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean test firmware for the Galaxy S III. Big Thanks to our insider who made this all possible.

Development on Android 4.2.2 update isn’t completely done yet. We do not know if Samsung will bring the new Galaxy S4 Camera features to the Galaxy S3. We expect Samsung to do this but we are not really sure if Samsung will do this with Android 4.2.2 or with 4.3 for the Galaxy S3.

Android 4.2.2 is still under testing phase by Samsung and they will release the official final Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III in June. We wanted to give Samsung’s hardcore fans a sneak preview of what Samsung is up to at their dev center."

I would be posting my S4 review about now and workinig on a new rom for the i9500. However yesterday my phone screen (the samloed screen) cracked at the top.

*

How I do not know, the gorilla glass is not cracked. I never dropped my phone ever! What I did was put it in my left front jeans pocket. (Like I have done with all my phones) Drove into down. Got out my car and when to make a phone call, and my phone screen was black with colors at the top.

I small crack in the SAMOLED panel. Utter BS! Never have I had this happen. There are now reports of many others with this issue it seems on the XDA forums. I'm not the only one that has gotten a borken screen from placing their S4 in their pocket.

The phone must have bent in my pocket, hard to imagine as they are loose fit Jeans. With a large pocket. I used to have a Note II in this pocket with no issues.

Either the heat or movement getting in and out of the car caused the screen to break. Maybe both did it.

Samsung claim its my fault and I will have to pay to have it repaired. :(

So there it is. I have a brick of a phone. To prove this is no lie here is my phone on ebay to sell as spares or for repair. http://www.ebay.com/itm/140980424312...84.m1555.l2649

I'm highly pissed off. I had the phone for less than 2 weeks and now this.

Hi,

My Galaxy SII decided to flip a wobbly on me. It was fully charged but now the screen alternates between a battery icon showing almost fully charged and a grey battery icon and a yellow triangle with a exclamation mark inside next to a thermometer. The phone will not even turn on. I cannot find anything in the user manual to describe this. The phone and battery are about 18 months old. Any ideas? Is it just a dead/dud battery? Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

Unit one has Android 2.3.6 Baseband T989UVLDH Kernal ver.2.6.35.11-1209942 se.infra@SEI-30#2 SMP PREEMPT WED Jan 16 13:58:26 KST 2013 (why such a long kernel version?). Build number GINGERBREAD.UVLDH (This unit has not been unlocked yet)

Unit two has Android version 2.3.5 Baseband version T989UVKID Kernel version 2.6.35.11 Build number GINGERBREAD.UVKID (this unit is un-locked)

I have read that the second unit is an older version and can be upgraded to JB ( couldn't both be upgraded to JB?) What is advantage to JB or ICS over GB?
I have also heard that the first unit can be made to be on-line without the carrier knowing how much usage you are consuming. Could the second unit also be programmed for that function?

Appreciate any help, comments, direction as I am just now graduating from a dumb phone to a smartphone.
Thanks!

Hi,
It's driving me crazy trying to search google in vain to find out how I can search my samsung galaxy note phone. Every time google gives me information about how to find my phone, or how to search on the internet on the phone.
I want to search the actual phone itself. To, for example, find a particular app on the phone.
Iphone has this feature by swiping the screen to the right, which takes you to a search function so that anything on your phone with the word you type in will be found. It may be a text message, a contact or an app.
Is there such a feature on the galaxy? Without it I can't find what I'm looking for. I downloaded an app to help me search the phone but now can't find the app!
Help!

Hi guys,
This afternoon I did the software update on my phone and have found that the vibration settings are completely different to before, you can only have one vibration style for every notification?!

I tried creating my own one in the hope of having that set for a text notification but it hasnt worked and my phone vibrates on a standard phone call setting every time I get an email, text etc. You used to be able to choose the vibration style and set it to different notifications. How can I do this again?!
Thanks :)

Hey people,

Hope this forum is still alive :)

I've been having trouble with my G i9000; in turning off USB storage and recognising my external SD card.
In settings, it displays 'not available' in both the SD and USB columns.
At first, I thought the micro-sd card was simply fried (the phone is some years old) or corrupted.
So, I tried formatting it multiple times, as well as factory resets and inserting a brand-new memory card.

But without luck.
As soon as I want to use the camera, the phone still demands I turn off USB storage.
Isn't there simply a button I'm grotesquely overlooking that does this?
(as I think some newer models show a bar in 'notifications' when they are connected to a pc which they can use to turn off USB. Don't know if the S1 works differently or my phone does not show it.)

The strange thing is that I may not access the memories through pc or phone, but if I remove my memory card right now, my apps still stop functioning, so it's being used. Arg.

Thanks in advance.

The problem I am having is the little electronic voice thingy.

At first I thought it was funny when I was on a call and I heard the voice say "new message from stephen". Now its just irritating. It also goes off when I get an alarm to tell me something like "it is six to zero" and when I get an email "one new email". I havn't heard it with anything else but its at the point now where my phone is on silent all the time. I tried looking in the settings but I don't even know what its called.

Please can someone tell me how to turn this annoyance off?!?
