  1. Hiya, I tried to message you earlier but put too many characters and it all went wrong. Lol.

Just wondering if you still have your transformer, was it the tf101 and did you experience any dock battery drain even when completely powered off? Lots of questions but need to keep it brief. lol.

If you don't still have it, how long did you have it? Long story.

  2. We also both have a battery drain problem. When completely powered down, even if the dock isn't connected to the tablet, the dock battery drains quite significantly overnight.

So far I am still gettting pretty good usage out of mine despite this drainage but mine and Richardj's concern is that this will over time become less and less or even cause further problems.

Hence my writing to you as I remembered you got one when I was undecided and eventually went for the ipad 2 which I have now sold and went for the transformer.

There is absolutely nothing else on the market that myself or Richardj would be interested in, we both love these devices but the worry of problems further down the line is too much to ignore. That's why I wonder if you would be kind enough to let me know how you got on or get on with yours if you still have it.

Hope all this makes sense and isn't too much waffle and thank you in advance for any light you may or may not be able to shed on this.

  3. 4. How much usage were you getting out of the transformer with dock and did the battery life decrease over time or did it stay pretty much the same?

Sorry for so many questions, Richardj and myself both bought a manufacturer refurbished one from the same seller on ebay, joined a dedicated forum and have learned about some issues, well, one in particular with the chipset not being compatible with the latest dock firmware update. The update was to enable extra battery saving by preventing the device being able to be woken up by pressing any key and unfortunately,, we have the incompatible chipset. The one and only way to resolve this is for Asus themselves to replace the chipset but unfortunately we're not covered by a warranty with them but just three months with the seller (who is currently looking into what can or can't be done) so returning to Asus for an updated chip isn't an option.
  4. Hi there, hope you are well.

I seem to recall last year that you bought the Asus Transformer TF101 and have a question for you. Well, a couple actually.

    1. Did you have any problems with dock battery drain even when powered right off?
    2. When your device was in deep sleep were you able to wake it by pressing any key on the keyboard?
    3. Were you or are you aware of the problem with the older chipset used which prevented being able to use the extra battery saving mode (although that might not have been implemented back then so this question could be irrelevant).
    4. How much usage were you getting out of the transformer with dock and did the battery life decrease over time or did it stay pretty much the same?
