: [How Too] Samsung Smartview App (XDA Thread -Samsung Smart view Dual View)

Those of you that have a Samsung Phone and a *Samsung Smart TV must have this app. it has been removed from Google Play for one reason or another but Nygmam @ XDA took the time to backup the app so it will be available for us all.

Source Thread - [APP] Samsung Smart view Dual View - By nygmam (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1808188)

Download the app:
Samsung Smartview (Andorid) - Version 3.2.0 (40Mb) (http://www.mediafire.com/file/dsoudbd2a8rwsl5/com.samsung.smartview-3.2.0.apk)

Please view the source thread @ XDA using the above link, there are 2 versions of the app, you can download the app from there. You will need to sign up to XDA Forums but you should've done that by now if you own a Samsung phone....naughty.
Edit: I have added a direct download link just above for the version that worked for me.

I have the SGS 3 and a Samsung UE32ES5500 TV, the app version 3.2.0 works fine for me. So long as the TV and the Phone are both wireless and running off the same router it should be pretty easy.

I will post some screen shots for you :)

*The app will only work with some Samsung Smart TV models, give it a try any way.

In summary:

That's a shame as I have a Panasonic TV:( But I got the same kind of app for my TV anyway :p:)

Which app do you use?

I saw some apps which also did similar but they all looked basic or gaudy. The UI is nice and smooth, when using the CH/VL or Simple screens, leds light up in response to your touch. It's also very responsive and easy to setup.

Edit: Really don't understand why Samsung would not allow this on Google Play. It's one of their better pieces of software but that's not saying much.

Really not sure what has happened here but the app is now available on Google Play. There are 2 versions one for Tab people and another for everyone else.

Google Play - Samsung Smart View (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.smartview&hl=en)

Google Play - Samsung SmartView-Tab (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.smartview.tab.tz&hl=en)

Edit: I checked yesterday on both PC and phone and it wasn't there!?!

Edit 2: Neither links will allow you to install it if you own an SGS3, still use my link in the first post.

Edit 3: It looks like the first app I posted was actually Samsung Remote. Samsung SmartView is a different app? 2 more apps:

Google Play - Samsung Remote (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.remoteTV&feature=more_from_developer)

Google Play - Samsung Remote-Tab (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.remoteTV_TAB&feature=more_from_developer)

I'm downloading the second app from XDA to see if that is also the same app. If so the OP has posted some wrong info......no wonder I can't dual screen mode.

The second app is exactly the same. It's labelled Samsung Smartview but I think it's Samsung Remote, hence why there's no Dual Screen.

Mines called Viera remote. Looks nearly the same as the pic's you posted. Although I don't know if you can use it as a games controller but being able to use the phones keyboard instead of remote keypad is :):):)

Don't think I can receive pictures/video from the TV, but phone to TV works:)

The Samsung Smart View app is apparently still not available to the Note 3. This approach with the apk file worked with the Note 3 as mentioned in this youtube video:

Dear Tufftoad

I have a Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo (I9060) and have a Samsung UA40H5500 (2014 model) smart TV. Will the apps mentioned work. I'm simply crazy to explore all the smartness my TV has. :)

Not too sure. If you can download the app form Google Play and have a TV Model listed above then there should be no reason as to why not.....sorry for late reply :)
