My s3 is being replaced Tues.the reasons being A-in the about phone menu there is no system update feature.my phone number is 0000000000.it says I'm not connected to internet when I am.the phones a 2 year contract with t mobile unbranded.I also have an s2 the same but that has the system update feature.t mo said thats not right that it should have that.has anyone else encountered this??if the new s3 is the same i don't know what to do as I don't have a PC or know enough to flash anyway.if anyone can give any advice that'd be sound as I'm learning as I go along.thanks

This is a repeat post, but will add, not to worry.
Your current S3 appears to have an incomplete firmware.
If you had computer it would be possible to reflash this to check - but as you haven't and it's a new phone, just play with it until your new one arrives.
Presumably you will have to return the current one !!!!
I know a good home for it :)

Thanks man & sorry about the repeat.iv'e been on so many forums to try & get answers most not at all helpfull.can't help not knowing. Much but I want to learn.wish I had a computer I'd work it out or die.will wait & see what the replacement is saying.thanks for reading my post & replying I appreaciate it beleave me.I'll be back Tuesday with the "GOOD" news the better be GOOD news?! Did you notice RichH comment in your other post that the phone number does not show on any android phone as they do not write to the sim card.
Also that it could be that TMobile have disabled the System Update as they have no intention on carrying out an Over The Air (OTA) firmware update.
That's a very good point as firmware is getting so big now that it would clogg up the network.
In other words your S3 could be fine.
