Hey guys,

As the title reads, please read this article from the legendary ChainFire developer who hacked the SGS III.

CLICK HERE (http://www.chainfire.eu/articles/118/Triangle_Away_vs_Samsung/)

He explains in detail on Samsung and there attempt at "monitoring" what we are doing and for whatever possible reason.

So you have to ask yourself, do you really want to hack your shiny new phone.

P.s. Triangle away and restoring to an entirely stock state is fine and easy enough to do for warranty purposes. I have personally gone trough this procedure and works flawlessly. ChainFire recommends the procedure to be done on firmware ALE8 (Stock UK).

In anticipation of what Samsung are up to, I have reverted my phone back to stock. To be honest, no real benefit in rooting, custom rom was good and fast but unnecessary. The phone is perfectly fine on stock. Battery life and performance is amazing. No need to hack. ;)

Contemplated what custom roms would be like but as you said it's fast enough. The only reason I want to root at the moment is to put swype on. The swipe option on the sgs3 doesn't allow you to select and change a word, no dictionary etc.

Need root for Titanium Backup to restore my apps & data.

Need root for Titanium Backup to restore my apps & data.

ICS now has Backup to Google servers and Reset.
Does the job for you.

But that doesn't solve restoring from my GB SGS to my ICS Triple Eye pebble when Samsung decide to deliver it to Amazon.

That's very true :)
But why would you want to?

With Ti I can restore the 200 apps in a few minutes without having to download them individually again and keep all their settings & data.

I am thinking of rooting but not custom rom, I want to remove some bloatware and use adaway. On my SGS II I tried to use a samsung app for the first time (cant remember which one now) and a message came up "You are unable to use this app as it appears your phone is rooted!" I was shocked by this so they were watching even then!
Dont know whether to root or not now but I really miss adaway (and maybe swype too)

Was it a banking app that refused you? You can temporarily unroot via Voodoo OTA RootKeeper.

I knew there would be a benefit to my pebble being delayed...

Took a look and it said will not work on Samsung devices updated through kies or odin .

Not rooted yet, dont want the yellow triangle again and scared of spoiling my shiny new phone. When you read the warnings on the triangle app about bricking your phone its scary.
