Hi All,

I have a galaxy S model GT-I9000M. The last few days I have been experiencing issues where the battery seems to randomly drop out (see attached screen cap). The phone seems to think it is out of power and shuts it self off. If I power the phone back on it will usually recognize that there is plenty of power left and work fine for a while before it drops out again.

I have not recently upgrade firmware or installed any new applications, although I generally install updates to apps as soon as the phone tells me they are available. Have others seen this before? I'm guessing it is a battery issue but don't feel like buying a new battery if this could be software based or other hardware issues.

Firmware Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9000UGKG3
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9000UGKG3 sj0829.kwon@SEP-08 #2
Build number: GINGERBREAD.GKG3

thanks in advance,
Mike

I'm assuming as you're running stock firmware that you aren't rooted? So can't reset battery stats? You've a couple of choices as far as I can see. Do a factory reset, wiping the whole device, flash a cooked rom such as Darky or an ICS one like Slim ICS (I can recommend this one!) or buy a new battery and see if that sorts it out after some power drain and recharge cycles. If I'm right and you're running stock unrooted and don't want to go down the customn rom root, I'd go for the battery first, they're cheap as chips on fleabay.

I experienced that on stock gingerbread 2.3.5, where my phone will randomly shut down or I will charge it full after couple of hours with bare usage will fall to near 20%..
I just flashed firmware and solved my issues..
So try factory rest & wipe..if not flash again
