I have the full body invisibleshield on the way in the post, I'll post my review of it when I have it. I've got no doubts it'll be a sure fire winner as I've used an InvisibleShield before on my iPod Touch. However, that was some time ago, I'm intrigued whether they have made the application of the shield easier as it was quite fiddly on the iPod. That being said however, when its on, its very thin, incredibly strong and has a grippy feel, ticking all the boxes on what I'm after when it comes to protection for my devices. :)

Day 1

Ok guys, got it through the post yesterday, packaging is nice, noticed however they cut back with not providing a lint free cloth like the last one I got. Inside the package you have the front and back skins, a spray tube of application gel and a rubber block (this'll make sense later).

Application:
The application was quite straight forward: clean your hands and your phone with a cloth, making sure theres no dust present (easier if you work in a dust free environment for this). Wet your fingertips with the application gel to minimise finger marks and easier handling. Peel the skin off the backing and spray the adhesive side with the gel, and then position and apply onto your phone. When in place, you can use the block to get rid of bubbles and fine tuning the position.

First Impressions:
First impressions were ok - I was expecting a lot more coverage for a product that boasts "maximum coverage", however I've found the screen skin a bit odd fitting, a little small in places and it does not protect the gunmetal metal surround on the phone which I was hoping for. The back skin also falters as it does not cover the corners of the phone which in my experience is the most likely bit to get abuse from heavy use. After my application, I've noticed a lot of micro bubbles and imperfections also, but the instructions state this is normal and should work out in a few days.

Using the Phone:
The phone is a LOT more grippier - a big plus. However finger dragging on the screen is a lot harder due to the natural grippy feel of the material. For me this is a big downside being a heavy swype user, however I'm hoping it will get easier over time.

I'm not going to conclude my feelings about this skin just yet, I feel it will be unfair to do so. I'll follow up with another update

Day 2

A day on I can only say I'm fed up of it already. Scratches have appeared in the corners of my case as expected from normal in and out of jean pocket use and the skin seems to get dirty real fast.

Also noticed that the screen protector has factory like marks on it which reflects light (noticed as small hair thin multicolour lines) which gives the impression of dead pixels. I admit, it may be a fault with my particular invisibleshield but it definitely dampens the superAMOLED viewing experience. I will rule out it was a fault from application as the lines are too organised than random and it is still present after reapplication. At this point I'll point out also that using the screen has not became easier, only more frustrating when you have dry fingers because you can't operate it smoothly.

I am really disappointed, they have done a substandard job with this skin and certainly did not reflect the same quality I received a few years back with my ipod touch skin which I can quite happily say is retaining its same purpose. Its probably time ZAGG goes back to the drawing board with this one and sort out what I believe is some serious flaws with a product which demands a premium price.

Pros:
+Scratch protection is the best on the market
+Rubberised feel gives phone more grip on surfaces and in hand
+Retains original thinness and look of phone
+30 Year Limited Warranty

Cons:
-Will not protect from drops on hard surfaces - no shock protection
-Gets dirty quick and retains dirt on edges of skin
-Unprotected on corners of phone
-Screen shield is too grippy, makes slide movements hard to accomplish with dry hands
-Screen shield may have reflective hair thin lines affecting screen
-Both front and back shields are not perfect fitting
-Demanding price tag

I've just ordered one from mobilefun.co.uk. Heard from an Iphone owning friend that they can be difficult to put on but tough once in place. ;)
car phone warehouse is supposed to be an official supplier, never heard of it. Tried to fob me off with a sock!

I have mine and it's great. Easy to apply and strong. Only gripe is that it's very reflective. Millions of dollars of screen reflection-reducing technology defeated by a sticker lol :)

Will it dull the nice colors of the amoled screen much?

Nah, I don't notice any difference. But this comes from a guy who sometimes has trouble recognizing difference between DVDrip and 720p... I'm not so picky, and not very hi-fi! :p

The one thing I found annoying with my InvisibleShield is that using Swype is a bit harder than it was before. Sometimes, my finger gets "stuck" due to the display now having a more grippy feel. Actually the first two days were awful, but after practicing my Swyping a bit I'm now used to it and I have no problems anymore. And I feel better knowing that my screen is protected.

I have the invisible shield as well. I'm going to order another one though because I screwed up the installation and got some dust particles trapped right in the middle of the screen :(
For the guy who asked about the installation: it's still the same as before, but now they send even less of the installation liquid.. supposedly you can just fill it with water though.

Protip: Get a 40-50% discount code before you order. You can sign up every week to get a code on your email (you don't always get the good codes though, sometimes its only 10%).
People also post a lot of unused codes on these sites:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=505797&page=15
http://www.facebook.com/zaggcodes
You have to be quick to get the good ones though

It does make the screen more reflective, but I didn't notice any actual decrease in image quality. However it doesn't quite cover 100% of the device's front, so dust/lint can accumulate on the edges, which gets quite visible.
It also makes it more grippy, which I think is good because the original phone is too slippery. I don't have any difficulties using Swype with it.
Overall, I think it makes the device less pretty, but I can't use it without the shield. Before I applied it, I was afraid to do much on the screen for fear of scratching it

Im curious about this product, having never used anything like it before. Sorry Im a noob when it comes to things like these hehe, ..so what are the advantages of this? Is it basically a high tech screen protector or does it offer any shock/impact protection? Would you/can you use this in conjunction with a case? how easy is it to remove if you make a mistake or dont want it anymore?

it protects your screen from minor scratches i believe, and i dont think it can provide sufficient shock/impact protection unless you actually get a physical casing like zenus, or the silicon case, then again, dont drop it! :P

Just applied the maximum coverage skin last night and I agree with all the things MrSkiba wrote.
I was certainly disapointed with the coverage, especially on the corners. the screen shield does not go to the very edge (it's about 1 - 3 mm down one edge) never mind covering the gunmetal. screen sensitivity does not seem to be altered though.
would have thought that for the price of the product a little more care and precision would have been put into making the template, for a company that specialises in this it really shouldn't be hard.
Having said all that, it does seem hard wearing and will hopefully protect the screen from the ravages of my pockets.

Thanks for the informative review MrSkiba, Im sorry that you were the guinea pig so to speak on trying this product, but the information is no doubt helpful to others who may be consdering the product.

I wonder though, do you think it could be better to use the back shield on the back - to improve handling and grippyness, but dont use the front shield. (maybe use another type of screen protector or something)

I personally think its a bit too expensive though, especially with the cons you mentioned.

I agree with MrSkiba cons. I have the reflective lines too, but I had attributed them to instalation error..

Despite the disadvantages, I can't bear using the phone without scratch protection.. although judging by this video, the screen is already scratch resistant by itself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xASJobjD68

Thank you for the positive feedback on the review, I do hope it makes up a few minds when they wonder what this case is like. I would say that the back cover is far more ideal than the screen cover. However, due to the limited protection the back cover has, in particular to the corners of the phone which will take the most punishment, there are better, and as you say, cheaper alternative out there. I will be having a look at them options in the coming days.

I've had the Zagg shield on for almost a month, and I think I'm gonna take it off.. for many reasons:

1) It's scratched. Wasn't even a key or something made of metal, it was my fingernail.
2) The microbubbles that are supposed to disappear after a few days are still there.
3) It doesn't cover the corners of the phone. When I use it on the car as a GPS, it's standing on its corners, very vulnerable to scratching (varies from car to car though)
4) It accumulates oil/grease a lot. I'm not sure if a naked phone does this too, because I applied the zagg shield almost immediatly after buying the phone

I have a Zenus case coming, and I'll try to use only the case without a screen protector. With the case, the screen would only be in danger of scratching when I'm using it.. gotta be careful with my fingernails, but I'll see how it goes..

a friend from work has one of these for the iphone 3gs. He said the best way to fit one of these is to run a shower in your bathroom which then creates steam this helps to remove all the dust from the air thus helping you to get less on the phone.

I got along fine with my Invisible Shield until I played with an unprotected SGS in a store. That's when I realized how weird the screen really felt to handle when equipped with a shield. I took the shield off and bought a leather case. That's the way to go in my opinion. The screen on this phone is glorious, and to wrap it in plastic just felt so wrong.

Zagg's InvisibleShield was just unbearable to install. Installation of a screen protector should be an overall easy task.
But finally I'm done applying it and I'm not impressed. Days go by and the transparent layer seems to have already been penetrated by something, perhaps my keys in my pockets. It's disappointing for something meant to be a scratch protector. I observed that simple impacts and small concussion with blunt to moderately sharp objects can penetrate the so called "shield" as though nothing was even there. The so called "shield" is of poor quality, and certainly not of good use. Coupled with the frustrating installation process, I conclude that it's not worth it.
Another screen protector, Gadgetshieldz, was quite simple to install and turned to actually be a good shield against scratches.

I heard some great things about Zagg's screen protectors, I ordered a "full shield" about 4 days ago and I'm waiting for it to arrive. Yesterday a friend of mine came over who has a Samsung Galaxy S fascinate (ugly compared to the Vibrant imo) who actually has a Zagg Protector in place.. It looked terrible, she had told me it was a pain to install and after a month of having it on you can see the tiny pieces of foreign objects that had gotten their way underneath. It had too much grip, I don't think I'll like it, I don't swype or anything but I do enjoy the smooth feeling.. Maybe I'll pull out a sander an see if I can buff it up before I install it.

Edit: I just got it in the mail today.. What a pain to put on, I ran out of the liquid before I could do the backside. I tried the front 5 times to get it perfect (OCD maybe).. In the end, somehow, I got 4 tiny specs of dirt on the adhesive side of the shield and even washing with soap & hot water, scrub pad and various kitchen cleaning utensils I could NOT get the dirt out. It isn't exactly noticeable but I can see it. Not pleased.

On a good note, I actually love the feel.. I think they changed it because it is nothing like my friends. It is actually smooth and easy to glide my fingers across (nothing like the normal screen but it will work).

I'm i the only one here whso still has the one supplied on the phone when new on? Full protection, no need for fiddling around with and simple to remove all the decals all over the front of it. I did have to wait a week for the print on the cover to loosen up mind.

I haven't read through the whole of this thread but I am thinking - what is the point of a full body cover? This phone is highly is just made for being flashed/customised and a fair amount of doing that means battery out/battery in. I take it that if you take the back part of the full body cover off then is it rendered useless?

^ Well it is kinda nice to know that in case the phone drops from your pocket to the floor edge first, it still stays in one piece. At least I justify the usage of my silicon cover this way.

And another advantage with it is that it hides the Google-logo in the back cover. ;)

And I go in favor of ZAGG. I've had it since the day one (or at least day two or three) for several months now. I guess if you apply it with the liquid that came along it stays firmly. Absolutely worth trying.

Just to clarify that I'm using ZAGG only in the front... Everywhere else is the Insmat silicon cover.
