How on earth do you close apps and tasks? After messing with the phone for a few minutes i keep finding a whole load of stuff is still running!

Actually i think i'm getting confused, does holding the 'Home' button display 'running apps' or 'last used apps'?

Last used :)
Try using an app killing application such as Advanced Task Killer to kill apps if you're not closing them problem. This is a bit of a problem with Android it seems but these killer apps work well :)

I see, is there any way to view running apps?

Have got Task Killer but it seems the only way to realisticly use it is to let the running apps build up then 'kill all' every so often. How are you actually supposed to close apps as some of them dont have an 'exit' button?

The back button closes apps :) sometimes a pain as it means you have to cycle back through a couple of the apps pages.
Personally I've just set up ATK with an ignore list of those I don't want killed then whenever I've finished doing anything on the phone I just hit the shortcut I created on one of my homescreens and it kills everything for me :)

Are you saying Android does not close apps properly after the user "exit's" the app just by pressing the back button?

I think ive managed to sort it out, have installed 'Task Panel' and set it to close background apps when the screen closes.
