Hi folks, I'm fairly new to all this so please be gentle with me.

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S Plus GT-19001 and have now taken a few test pics and movie clips. I've tried looking through the online User Manual and various threads on here but can't find simple instructions anywhere telling me how to download the pics and clips to my PC, using the USB cable provided.

With my Nikon Coolpix digital camera I just plug it in and a pop-up box on the computer screen appears saying "Welcome to the Scanner & Camera Wizard." I was hoping that much the same thing would happen with the Samsung phone, but it doesn't seem to work that way.

Can anyone tell me where to find simple instructions how to do this please?

Thanks.

There are a multitude of ways to copy stuff from your phone to your PC and vice versa.

One of the simplest is to set your USB connection setting to mass storage mode, on my SGS this setting is found in settings > wireless and network > USB settings.

Connect your phone via the USB cable, select 'connect storage to PC' on your phone and your phone internal storage and SD card (if fitted) will appear as drives on your PC.

You can then drag and drop anywhere on your PC.

Hello stonkr, I tried connecting after chking as you mentioned. I see 2 extra drives on My Computer but when I click on either of them it says 'insert disc' or something similar. Any ideas pls?

Sounds like those drives may be your cd/dvd/blu ray drives.

If you open a window with your drives displayed, then connect your phone, are the two new drives that appear the ones you're selecting?
