How to install Arabic language and another languages?

There are guides on xda on how to add other languages, I've forgotten how right now, but you'll still need to find a language pack or remove one from a different firmware.

Can those who have been brave enough to install this, say what if anything is not working?

Can this be rooted?

I'm running it. I flashed it last night and to say its not a complete finished rom its great. A little laggy and video recording not working. Oh and I can't turn earpiece volume down. I will be staying on this until a prop per release is out. Deffo a daily driver download it now!

Well I was on cm7 and was rooted and all I did was put the zip files on the phone and reboot into recovery mode cwm and flashed it as per guide and I have titanium back up pro up and running so I guess it is!. Flash it asap!!!!

Dogman do not listen to me i was talking about cm9!!!! Der!!!!

Anyway i have now flashed this version and to be honest the ui is nicer on cm9.

But this one seems ok ive only been running it twenty mins.

So now i will have to see if theres a way to root it! I feel such a dik! I didnt realise there was a sam release out!

alert - been running it for a day so not sure yet, but it could be a battery killer... seems to have drained my battery in a day when it usually lasts a good 2 days.. will have to monitor it over the next couple of days.. signal strength in much improved though.. 3g everywhere now when i hardly ever used to get it.

I can second the signal improvement! Its giving me full bars everywhere it seems to good to be true. Ill update battery usage through the day

dog-man
01-03-2012, 10:53 AM
Is it really a stronger signal or just that there are more bars showing?

I have read some reports that this firmware includes an auto root when you flash it, is this true?

dont know about the auto root, but i think the improved signal is real.. was in a pub in the day new years eve watching football and had no 3G at all, was in the same pub yesterday (2 Jan - my birthday....) and had great 3G and great fast internet access (for 3G anyway). Noticed battery getting low though and was at 30% so stopped using phone about half an hour later it was on 22%. At this point i turnt of wi-fi, reduce screen brightness etc and the battery lasted ok then.
Had a full charge last night about 11pm and unplugged it, not used phone since, wi-fi on, phone controlled brightness etc, now at 12.30pm UK time the battery is on 94%, so i think it might be ok. I dont think my phone was fully charged anyway at the start of yesterday when the battery got drained.

6 hrs on battery and I'm at 79% not had wifi on at all sent about ten texts bit of Facebook. One thing I have noticed is that I never seen H only 3g symbol? And I think I'm right in saying H is faster than 3g? I did a speed test and 3g was giving 2mb download on tmobile? As for auto root? I can confirm that mine is not rooted as tb won't work

My early findings on this firmware is that it is incredibly buggy. I have had loads of freezes needing the battery taken out.

I will probably go back to what I had tomorrow.

This firmware is far from ready.

dog-manu just have to wait for an ok box and things continue to run fine, not had to reset my phone once yet.

i have had things hang but yo

i ran this for nearly a full day but as you say it is to buggy to use as a daily driver. i have now gone back to cm9 which is near perfect. the only bad things is youtube videos have a green stripe and video rec not working. but ill now hang on to this untill a newer cm9 version is out.

its a shame about this sam release as ive never seen such strong signal on my phone ever!!!

dog-man

I have my doubts that the full three bars is a genuine indicator of a stronger signal.dog-man

dog man the signal is greatly improved... i said before, i am getting 3g in places i never got 3g.. at home i used to lose signal all the time. oranges excuse.. i am exactly halfway between two transmitters so my phone is always dropping 1 signal for the other!!! anyway, not anymore.. full 3g signal all the time, never had 3g at home before.

first battery remove moment.. wanted to restart phone so used the restart option rather than turn off.. phone crashed!!
wanted to restart as it could not find my home wi-fi even though i am 2metres from the router, a restart fixed it though.
just tried youtube, seems fine to me, no green bar.
also just recored video and played back and that works fine also.
i have a live wallpaper which i want to change however to reduce battery power user but i cant, if i try to use anything different the wallpaper app crashes.

Cyanogen Mod 9 which can be found from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410400 also on this and think it`s great, the green line on youtube is bearable though as it`s at the bottom not really affecting picture, for what I use my phone for this works great for me, thumbs up to codeworkx!!

I wonder if the modem for this firmware would work with an older stable non ics rom?

I have just been out for a meal and I monitored the signal on the way there, during the meal and on the way back. At all times I had a full signal according to my phone.I just don't believe that. I live right next to the sea and the signal is notoriously bad here. Often we will get a connection to a French provider rather than our UK provider when on the sea front as I was at one time tonight. I have had so many lock ups and blank home screens that I cannot stay any longer with this rom.

Have a look for the SuperUser app. Or try Titanium Backup and see if it works:)

;)

It can be very annoying when you want to make a call and you are connected to a French provider whilst in the UK.

Can you not just disable roaming, ie set network selection to manual?

dog-man
01-05-2012, 10:52 AM
I can but that would mean no signal, as all provider's signals are very poor here the closer you are to the actual beach. Very hit and miss.I know a place where you will only get a French provider all the time, Samphire Hoe, between Dover and Folkestone.dog-man

And I thought just receiving french radio was bad, oh and not being able to receive channel five on TV because of them too.

We get channel five on digital terrestrial and of course, satellite.

Does anyone know if the AT&T version of the Galaxy S2 (SGH-I777) will be coming out with ICS? or is there an unofficial version that we can test out?
