Hi,

I've been trying to use "Outlook Sync" from Samsung's Kies but I keep getting this error message:

The 'secman.OutlookSecurityManager' COM object is not registered

I have also found that USB device connection/recognition is very unreliable. Using Windows 7. Anyone else had these problems?

this is Security Manager error, start with re-registering it. Some advice you can find for example here http://www.add-in-express.com/docs/outlook-security-manager-delpoyment.php

I too had this problem, I eventually managed to connect via kies but this resulted in a poor transfer to the phone and messing up my entries on the computer taking several hours to put right.

After several searches on the net the easiest way is to download Google calendar sync to your pc. This updates googlemail calendar with your outlook profile which then provides an over the air update to the device. Within the calendar program on your phone make sure sync with google calendar is selected.

Only took 5 mins to install start to finish and never need to worry about syncing again as its all done automatically.

Downloaded the latest version of Kies and the error message has now gone. Unfortunately the problem of Kies dropping the usb connection randomly hasn't gone. Will try it out in the next few days and see how I get on with this new version.
