well, the biggest advantage of rooting may be actually the fact that you can grab a screen from your phone - so I rooted the bloody thing, now, what software do you use for screenshots? :)

I use Dropcap2, see this post (http://samsunggalaxysforums.com/showthread.php/214-Screen-Capture-App-(Root-only))

Hi all, Ive found a cool app to take screen shot from the phone, no more taking screenshot from other camera :D

Dropcap2 for root user

Tap start button and shake the device or wait for timer to capture screen image. You can also make a capture trigger from Notification bar. This works well with "superuser whitelist" environment.

v2.07 Lower tick sound volume

I rooted my phone last week and applied the lagfix. It's like I have a new phone! Anyway, today I did something -I don't know what, but the phone took a couple of screenshots! I don't know how it happened either! I was fooling around with the camera, taking a few pictures and looking at them in the gallery. I must have activated something!
I have not downloaded any apps for this purpose -I am sure of that.
Is there a way of taking screnshots -does anybody know??

If on Android 2.2 or above (I think) Press and hold the back button then press the home button and it will tack a screen shot:)

...and it will save those screenshots in a folder called "ScreenCapture" on your internal SDCard.

Thanks for the tip!! That's probably what I did. The screenshots were in fact saved in a folder called "screecapture".

The back and home button, seems to work with a load of Samsungs as it worked with my GF's Samsung Wave

I originally read about it here (http://mobile-and-cell-phone-tips.blogspot.com/2011/06/how-to-take-screen-captures-with.html) so I'll give credit where it's due :-)
