Hello!

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have just purchased my SGS and I love it. I have taken several photos with it which I can upload easily to Facebook and Twitter but when I try and upload them to my laptop, it says it doesn't recognise the format and I just get a red cross in the place of my photo. When I check the photo details on the camera, it says they are jpeg files so I can't understand why my lap top doesn't recognise them. My lap top uses vista.

I'd be really grateful for any advice!

By uploading, do you mean using Bluetooth, cable, downloading as an attachment from e-mail?

Sorry. I meant by using the cable. Also on that point, I've not been able to successfully connect to Samsung Keis yet either. But when I connect with the cable, my lap top does recognise the phone and I can view the files and SD card in my phone from 'My Computer'.

If you want your phone to ask you what kind of connection you want every time you connect your USB, you can go to settings, about phone, usb settings and set it to always ask on connection. That way you can choose Kies or mass storage, or whatever you want.

So let me get this straight then:

connect your phone to your computer
select mass storage
use windows explorer go to your camera folder in /sdcard/DCIM/Camera

Now if you double-click an image, does Windows show you the picture?

And doesn't it work if you try dragging and dropping images to a folder on your computer, straight from /sdcard/DCIM/Camera?

Hello, sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you. But since my last post, my problem seems to have sorted itself out. I re-loaded the phone's drivers and can now connect to Samsung Kies, which gives me access to my photos. But thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
