as above im running 2.3.4 at the mo updated through kies.

i have seen some people has got the offical 2.3.5 update all ready, but i tried today and it still says the 2.3.4 is the current version.

anyone know when the 2.3.5 will be out please

It was released in Sep 11.

Please remember that your network provider has to approve an update before issuing it through Kies.

Kies distributes firwmare based on a variety of things, location, network provider etc.

If you learn how to flash firmware yourself you will be able to put what ever firmware you like on your phone, whenever you like.

In summary wait longer or flash it yourself. If kies says you are on the latest firmware then you're on the latest firmwre for your provider.

If you just want to root first then this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399) is an easier option. I haven't tried villain rom, I'm back on Checkrom Revolution atm.
