Sorry if I am being dim - but the wording is unclear.
I have the 16Gb model very nice but I can do 16Gb in music and podcasts without too much difficulty, so - the manual says I can add an SD card upto 32Gb.
Great, but does that mean an additional 32Gb micro SD card, giving me a total of 48Gb in the device - or an additional 16Gb for a total of 32Gb.

Also any reccomendation as to which 'class' of card should be purchased much appreciated.

Thanks

Trev

well, i see cheap 8GB class 6 cards all over the place for around 24 bucks (pretty cheap compared to the bestbuy's 8GB class 2 for 40 dollars).. personally im trying to find a class 6 16GB. the 32GB of any class will cost 4x the price of a 16GB, so i suggest a 16 or an 8. the higher the class, the faster the read and write speed. you see the biggest difference when transferring between computer to phone, and not so much on actual phone playback/disk writing.

so is your Galaxy an 8 Gb or a 16 Gb giving you a total of 40 or 48 Gb storage?

And I completely see the point re the smaller cards - I have even considerd taking a number of cards out with me, and swapping them according to need - if only the sd card was on a slot rather than needing to remove the back and the battery - still a total 40Gb or 48Gb storage beats the Iphone4!!!!!!!

40GB total, 8GB internal memory to start with and then the 32GB card.

There are two versions of the phone one with 8gb internal and one with 16gb internal. Can somebody confirm if you buy the 16gb version you can add a 32gb sd card so in total you have 48gb?

Of course it will work. Its compatible with 32GB MicroSDHC cards, so there is no reason it won't work with the 16GB model as well.

Are you sure as the Vodafone UK site says in regards to the 16gb model that "There's 16GB of space built in. Pop in a microSD card, and you can add up to 16GB more"

Very confusing!

As sure as you can be without actually having one in front of you.

They are probably saying that because Android 2.1 doesn't fully support 32GB cards yet, the only limitation being that they can't be formatted in the phone in 2.1 - otherwise they function just fine.

I dont know the answer to the question your asking sorry, I only have a 8gb version with a 8gb sd card.

But while you do need to remove the back to get to the SD slot, you dont have to remove the batt
however you do need to remove the bat to remove the sim (just sayin incase you've seen a pic and confused it )
(I just took the back off and checked:))

hope it helps :)
