I want to do all kinds of experimenting with firmwares etc with my galaxy s, i hear though that i shouldnt do anything if the phone has a carrier lock. well i just got my T-Mobile contract today popped me voda sim in and i get no network. no other errors.
Anyone know of a code gen or similar to unlock these Phones?
Well i wouldn't worry about flashing firmware and carrers, i haved used orange for a number of years and have been flashing my phones the second after a full 8 hour charge. No diffrent for the Galaxy S either. You will be fine so long as it is not the USA equv as they have some slight built in changes.
Unlocking to other carriers would requirer gettimg the IMI number and generator have not seen any thus far.

Some carriers will give you the unlock code for free. Its worth giving them a call and asking. They'll need your IMEI number though.
It is worth a try some may not give you it till you are near the end of your contract.
