Hi I have attached screen capture of my SGSII. Please help to choose correct ROOT and flash files.
If you are not able to see my SGSII picture please refer this post :o
mark22 10-08-2011, 05:19 PM The ones above should do you fine.
LisaUK 10-08-2011, 09:00 PM I downloaded KI8 and initially unzipped the downloaded .tar file only to find one file inside. I guess the downloaded .tar file goes into 'PDA' in Odin?
Sayem Hossain 10-10-2011, 05:08 AM If you are not able to see my SGSII picture please refer this post :o
I also have the same firmware version with kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF3-CL276555 root@DELL101 #2
As i am located in Bangladesh and kies says "this version of the device cannot be updated"
Now please tell me what i can do to upgrade to the newer firmware version 2.3.4 or 2.3.5
Please help me, as i am new to android world. I'm stuck with battery drain problem.

Also I know quadrant isn't a good benchmark per se,but just ran it and got a score of 4204!! never got that before. Going to stay on stock-ish for a while with few tweaks, also does anyone else get amazed when they take out their phone from it's case, I'm still going OMG what a super slim sleek bit of kit :-D
mark22 10-10-2011, 06:30 PM I think the new kernel in cf root is a significant improvement. as is 2.3.5 overall, and yes I always put mine in the slimmer official case if I'm going to meet friends. Gotta show off sometimes.

It will definitely work, why it won't? ! Any European non branded version will work. Just flash the Indian CSC of KF3 with it and you will have the Network default features like APN and etc.
Could you please provide me link for "Indian CSC of KF3" so that i can flash my SGSII.
Have you tried looking on XDA?

Of course he didn't! In fact Googling would do :). Anyway, here it is, I hope you know you have to Extract the .exe to get the .tar file. Pass is: intratech@XDA

Thanks for answering these foolish questions.....
I want to add something.. So this "CSC: I9100ODDKF3" applicable for both Bangladesh and India as we are in the same region, isn't it???
So let me ask you guys again, while updating to new firmware version PDA and Phone will be updated and CSC will remain the same right???
Please dont get angry for these newbie questions cause we dont want to harm our phones.
Thanks.
HoboNob 10-19-2011, 03:48 PM I agree with Hossain.
I originally wanted to update to 2.3.4 from 2.3.3 via Kies but that piece of crap software won't work whatever I do.... Well never mind that when I came across to this thread.
1) This is an official rom/update right? Does it include Touchwiz or do I have to use default gui unless I root and install Touchwiz manually?
2) Also if I have understood this right, I can update the android without the root included in the post?
3) Does the installation wipe out all data and such?
4)Does it work fine in:
PDA: XWKF3
PHONE: XXKE7
CSC: XXKF1
5) The download only has this file I9100XXKI4_HOME.tar.md5 What about CSC/Phone.
Hmm... so Only need HOME.tar.md5 in PDA field I see? And root? Re-partition required for this one?
Excuse me I am such a noob in this field and I don't want to brick a 500€ phone
EDIT: I went and tried it: Odin got stuck at SetupConnection what could I be doing wrong ? :(

well, yeah...its a samsung rom so tw is included as a default....do you have a file that can install tw?
2) Also if I have understood this right, I can update the android without the root included in the post?
not sure what you mean
3) Does the installation wipe out all data and such?
unless its a frankenstein pacakage, yes
4)Does it work fine in:

irrelevant

the file you have contains everything, stick it in PDA and flash it
when you open odin, leave it at its default setup
and what about root?
EDIT: I went and tried it: Odin got stuck at SetupConnection what could I be doing wrong ? :(
could be a couple of things...

Shaariii 11-27-2011, 03:13 PM Hello,
Could someone help me as quick as possible with the following problem.
I think I'm doing everything as I should, but Odin always gets stuck at 'SetupConnection'.
Why is this and what can I do about it?
My phone is still in download mode now, but if the firmware update doesn't work.. how can I get it to normal mode?
Thanx
mark22 11-27-2011, 05:07 PM Just hold the power button to restart but not if it is in the middle of flashing. Connection error? was odin showing green in the com port?
