what kind of protection for the phone would you recommend? is it even needed? Im worried about scratches on the glass, can i just put it in my jacket pocket? also there is a small bag i can put it in, it looks similar to leather, but also has a bit of plastics and some wire threads woven into it. would this be ok?

Have you checked the 'Accessories' part of this forum? Lots of threads regarding covers and protection.
I have no scratches on my phone and I just use a phone sock. Just don't keep metal objects in the same pocket as your £500 phone.

isnt this accessories section? so a jacket pocket, without other objects, would be ok? because someone mentioned jacket pockets could be damaging too, but not sure if source was reliable.

Why yes it is. Many threads here too:)
My phone always goes in my pockets without any protection:eek:
I never put it with any other objects and the biggest problem would be sand and dirt so keep them clean:)

Maybe buttons that are sewn around the pocket area could scratch the screen, or metal zippers (don't keep your phone hanging out your pants tho)? Had my phone a year in a sock and it's got no scratches on the screen and it's never been dropped. It all depends on how much of a butterfingers you are?

a sock, lol. well its a good idea. also, if you just put the phone in a jacket pocket, it seems too vulnerable.

Just to clarify, when I mention sock I don't mean chop the ones you wear on your feet.

Where else would I put it.

So long as you're not wearing the sock when you chop it, you should be cool!

i had the barely there case which gives great protection round the phone but none to the screen. I love the phone so dont want to risk any damage to screen so bought a leather flip case from ebay

this type is very slim, feels good and protects full phone. Also the clip at the top rather than one hanging over to front of phone means it doesnt catch going into your pocket.
