Not really, unless you plan on taking photos at night all the time. If not wait for the Epic 4G or Galaxy S pro that has qwerty and Flash.

HTC cameras are the worst, they have some cool phones, but i would compare the cameras on HTC phones to a flip phone's quality, and the motionblur reminds me of my old Gameboy Camera. samsung actually has really good cameras, if camera is a big deal for you, i would suggest this phone. if you dont want the Galaxy S, and the camera is your number 1 thing, then wait for the Nokia N8

I think the only real problem with the lack of flash is the lack of torch. :-)

Also, LED flashes really aren't that great. Often they just serve to make your picture look weird in one way or another. Xenon is a whole 'nother monster.

HTC cameras have a bad reputation, and HTC battery life also has a bad reputation.

I like the camera on the Galaxy S, and I don't run around in darkness taking photos so I have no need for a flash anyway.

Have you tried taking low-light photos with a LED flash? In my experience, most of the pics taken in low light with LED come out blurry/blue/yellow. If you're wanting to take good pics in low-light conditions you're going to need a real digital camera, preferrably a DSLR. For the occasional "as it happens" photography and pictures of your friends at parties, the Galaxy S is just fine.

Have you ever seen an LED flash on a phone create a good photo? When the flash has illuminated the scene in pics I've taken with my previous scenes, the result was terrible, I don't take many pictures though so maybe your experiences are different. If it was a Xenon flash maybe it would be worth caring about.

I gotta admit I'll miss using my Nokia 5800's LED as a flashlight (using Phonetorch app). That's the only real use it had for me.

The Galaxy S can take good photos but it's no match for the dedicated digital cameras they make these days. If you want to take good night pictures then maybe it's worth getting one.
