I am awaiting the GSII to release here in the US and am curious if the battery looses ground to the navigation usage while on the car charger.

I ask because I have witnessed an HTC EVO 4G battery loose ground to the navigation usage. I have read a review that stated the same due to a insufficient voltage amount allowed by the car charger or the circuitry of the phone.

It looks like our unit will not have the hard Home button and we hope it has a notification LED.

The charger current needs to exceed the drain to prevent charge loss. I don't know if the standard one is good enough. There are high capacity chargers available wit 2 Amp output or more.

Thanks, That goes without saying for sure but not always true. The HTC EVO 4G charging circuit board is the culprit as it resists anything more than it is configured to allow to enter the device.
As I stated before ... I know an HTC EVO 4G user who is disappointed with his battery continuing to drain while navigating while connected. Its not as fast as when not connected and would take a long trip to deplete, yet it does not keep up.
So to be more clear, while using a standard car charging adapter/cord.............

I am looking for GSII users who have experienced navigation while charging that can tell me if the GSII battery:

Maintained its capacity when the navigation began?
Continued to increase the batteries capacity if it was partially depleted when navigation began?
Decreased the batteries capacity as navigation continued?

I Have a GSII and a 1000mA car charger. I use CoPilot as a navigation system and indeed, my battery keeps going down event when I'm pluggin in.

No idea if another navig software will use less battery.

I have calculated that with a full charge, I would not be able tu use GPS for more than 60-90 minutes.

That is a problem !

A higher capacity charter may help. If not drive everywhere at night so the screen (which takes most current) is not on full ;)

Or drive faster to get were you need to be before the battery goes:)

With Sygic, I've experienced nothing like that. Are you sure your charger is actually charging? Perhaps you just need a more powerful one...
