I can connect my SGS2 to my PC using USB2.0 to Kies without any problems and it recognises it. But when I want to back up contacts, etc. an error message box pops up saying that it cannot connect. Any ideas?

The best way to back up your contacts is using your google account. You will need to have auto sync and background data on. Once you have done that you will be able to log into your google account from a PC and add new contacts, edit them and so on.

You can also export your contacts as a .VCF file, you can also import the .VCF file into Gmail.

Thanks for your replies! :) I have a Google account/gmail already so I'll make sure that's synched. I've had no problems using Kies Air (where it asks you to enter the IP address in your PC browser) to access the phone either.
