Hello,
I wanted to delete some files and folders off my external SD (micro SD) card that is in my Samsung Galaxy S2, and by mistake I was in /sdcard instead of /sdcard/external_sd

If I tell you what I have in the first few folders of /sdcard please could someone check against their phone to see what vital info I have stupidly deleted!

I can see:
Folder 1) Android --> data --> com.cooliris.media --> cache --> etc......
Folder 2) DCIM --> this is empty...
Folder 3) external_sd (at which point I thought uh oh and gulped!)

I'm female if that explains things (my husband is always telling me I'm too hasty. He might have a point!

Many thanks in advance,
Tori

I'd probably do a firmware update, should put anything necessary back in place.

Thank you for the advice - how do I force an update as I think it's on the latest version. Thanks again.

You would have to download the firmware and flash it with odin. The instructions can all be found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278), you may want to try KF2 as that is the latest european one or KE7 stock is the latest UK one on kies I think.

Just FYI, the DCIM folder is where your photos are stored if you have set your camera app to use the phone rather than the external memory as storage.
