My contact list seems to have automatically imported all of my email contacts from all 4 of my email accounts into my contact list.

This makes it really cluttered, andc I'm not sure I really want any emails in there at all, let alone all my ones from 12 years ago.

Is there any way I can eliminate these "just email address" contacts?

open your contact list, then hold on the contact a second or two and select delete from the menu that pops up :+)

Upload your contact list into Kies on PC, sort & edit and then copy back to phone. Lot quicker if you have loads of contacts.

Right, it seems that it is sync-ing with the address book from my mail.com account. I don't really want to delete the contacts, as I may need them when writing emails, but would prefer them not to come up in my phone book. Is this at all do-able, or am I crazy?

Why not merge your email contacts with the ones you have phone numbers for. Just long press on contact and merge.

Good idea, but there are a lot that I don't. Maybe I should just delete them if I don't have a number for them, but it seems a bit extreme.

Is there really no way to do this, to keep email and phone functions separate? Would a different dialler help?

When in contacts go to Menu > More > Display Options > You can select Sim, Phone, or specific accoutns like hotmail, whatsapp etc. You then have options to hide all or even hide particular categories (Starred, Family, Friends etc).

No problems mate, some options are hidden quite well like the 'wifi sleep policy' option.

Right I figured out how to do this. If you're logged in to your Gmail account go to Account Settings >> Contacts - highlight all your unwanted contacts and click Groups and under Remove From select My Contacts then in your phone go to Settings >> Accounts & Sync >> Sync All - this should remove all the unwanted email addresses from your phone.
