: Scanning for media... a LOT

Am I the only one with this problem? My media scanner sometimes goes off, randomly. If I'm watching a video or listening to music it will abruptly halt playback, sometimes even causing the audio player to jump back to song #1 on my playlist.

If I delete something using a file manager - boom, it scans for media, finishes the scan and then 10 minutes later scans again.

I think I've noticed a pattern too. The first time I open the audio player and start playing tracks, usually before the end of track #2, it will scan, causing the audio player to jump back to the first song. After that it works fine.

It's kinda starting to annoy me... I have a 32gb SanDisk class 2 SD card. It did the same thing with a 16gb SanDisk class 2 card that I tried. It did it when I was using R2 and it has done it while I've been using SamSet... Now going to try if R3 fixes the problem...

Anyone else with a similar problem?

mine is well behaved so far, only scans on reboot

running with a 16gb sandisk add in card as well, but i dont have a ton of media on it, and running pretty much vanilla everything (file manager, media players etc)

As far as I know, there is a tweak to run the media scan on demand (on our forum somebody posted it, Soraxd, as I remember, and on XDA forums I've seen this, as well).

I have solved this annoyance using Rescan Media found here: http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.addz.mediascannerroot
