Hi all, I know this may not be the best place but I'm hoping some one can help me before I have to take this phone into a shop!
Any way, I plugged her into my PC and she registered no worries but a pop up showed an update to the firmware was needed. I'm guessing this KE7 update.
So I let the update do it's thing (skipped back up due to fail attempts by bloody keis) and downloaded the files. When it came to applying the firmware update, I left the phone for close to 2 hours with no progress in the update install bar. After closing the update I went to unplug my phone from the USB. I'll mention here the handset was showing the driod logo saying update in progress do not turn off target (or something to that effect). Thinking the phone was just a bit slow on the uptake I removed the usb plug and waited for it to do it's normal thing.

Problem is, the phones not normal any more. All I get is a mobile icon linked to a pc icon with "!" in the middle. Can any one help? Have I just royaly screwed my phone or is there a way out of this pit?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Olan

Yes you have, you've used kies:)

Well there's good news and bad news:cool:

Yes you can get out of this pickle:), But you'll have to learn how to do it:)

I'm sure there is a guide on this forum how to flash your SGS EyeEye, I don't think its much different to the SGS ones just don't use the SGS firmware, You need the SGS EyeEye (2) Firmware:)

I'll post a link if I find it on my travels:)

A good place to start, plus the files you will need:)

Haha
Yeah, I got the feeling Kies has a few problems.
Great, I'll have a search on the fourms in a bit, for now I need a smoke and a bite to eat. If you do come across that link let me know, that would be great!
I'll check back in a bit.
Thanks for the info doomed, I really thought I botched that one up.... on a damn update as well!

You should be ok, have a look in the stickies about debranding your phone and flashing firmwares via odin instead of kies. Then you just need to download the latest firmware, KF2 is available here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) and is the latest european one, and flash it over (assuming you can power off and get into download mode).

Thanks guys, bloody hotfile really makes things hard don't they. It looks like bed time for me any way. I'll let you know if I have any problems but it all looks easy enough, thanks for the sticky ref mark. Checked it out, think it'll be a big help.
