My S2 works a treat however the GPS lock is taking some time in comparison to my HTS Desire handset. I have run all sorts of gps apps and tested the phones in identical conditions yet the S2 takes over 3 to 4 minutes to obtain the first lock whereas the HTC takes about 6 seconds. I've read that this was a problem on the original galaxy s and a secret menu for gps settings solved this. Has anyone else had similar problems and is there a solution? Many thanks for any help.

Are you using the GPS with google maps/Navigation, if so it takes for ever on my SGS 1 but if I use Copilot it gets a lock in about 4-5 seconds. For some reason the GPS and google maps/navigation has never worked that well together.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Copilot is in the market. It costs from around £20 for the UK and Ireland version, cheap compared to some others.

Have you tried GPS fix? It starts it off in the UK rather than letting it work that out to start with.
