Been unable to connect via 3G all day the icon is there but no flashing arrows ok via Wi Fi any suggestions

Sounds like a carrier problem to me, did you try 3G on other phone with the same carrier?

No got no other phone to try what do you suggest i do

Call/mail your provider, and ask if there's a problem.
I had the same problem with T-Mobile NL some time ago. The phone would display 3G, but I couldn't get any internet connection. This was because the network was to busy...

What carrier are you with?
I had this problem yesterday with Vodafone. Didn't bother to call them up as it worked fine later :) Sometimes you're going to get these periods where 3G won't work properly due to the amount of traffic your carrier is dealing with.
