Downloaded THIS (http://spb.com/android-software/shell/) last night. I have to say, on aesthetics, this is the best damn launcher I have ever used. It's bit on the pricey side (priced at £9.49 on the Market!!), but if you're like me, you have ways and means of avoiding that. And that is all I shall say on that matter :p

It's not quite as customisable as Launcher Pro, which is my usual launcher, but it's extra features more than make up for that. So far battery life seems average and is no worse effected by the 3D rendering of the launcher. 3D widgets are a treat for the eyes with integrated animated weather widget, flickr widget, time & calendar widgets and more! Only major thing it's lacking for me is the 5 icons-row homescreens. However, this is only a slight drawback as I've just ended up compensating with folders and more homescreens! ;)

I strongly recommend you give it a try!

How about a nice little review what it can and can't do vs other launchers.

I use Go Launcher Ex, so I have a 5x3 scrolling dock, only use 3 homescreens with only a few widgets and No app shortcuts (That's what the dock is for) to keep it clean. Plus I can have folders in the app draw so I can group sets of apps together:)

How would SPB compare and how much alike is it vs the I8910 version:)

does it (SPB) work in landscape?

I have a go launcher related question, i currently use it but my brain is fading and ive forgot, can you change the glow colour when you select an app from your home screen ?

I was interested in SPB 3D but there are a lot of bad reviews, they will have to make it very very good to drag me away from Go launcher ex, which I think is easily the best launcher and best of all it's free..

I used SPB Shell on my i8910 and it was really good, especially because the Symbian UI wasn't the best. As I know I'm very happy with the Android UI, I tested SPB Shell to see what it could offer and there wasn't much. Visually it was nice, the 3D carousel is good and when you stop on a pane it animates. But I prefer the android UI to SPB Shell.

It really depends what you want out of the UI.

As for the reviews I always prefer to find out for myself.....but the reviews sound close to the mark this time!

I've just had a look through and I dont think the glow colour can be changed,, unless i'm missing something obvious.

3D effect for Galaxy S 2 would have been nice. But for me, Go Launcher EX is the best launcher for SGS 2
