is there a way to download attachments recieved in the gmail app?it tells me its there, it gives the name and size, i want to download the attachment, but i dont see how to

what type of attachment? I just send an jpg to myself, just below the photo I have BIG download button ;)

yea, pictures work great. but i just dled an app off the comp, i sent the 9kb apk to myself. it gave me the option to preview it (which fails) but no download link.. i CAN download it if i go to gmail.com on my browser and click desktop view, but the built in app wont..

I have and it doesn't change things. I had a silly idea to rename file we want to download to jpg, which partially works, I get download button, but looks like system is trying to display the jpg first (which of course is not going to happen ;) ), so it doesn't work, maybe it is just a matter of finding right file type. Tried txt and pdf as well. No luck, but whoever is desperate to get files tis way, may do some more testing :)

I am sure when I had my HTC Desire I e-mailed an apk to myself and installed it fine but it was a few months ago so maybe I just bluetoothed it... When I get my replacement Galaxy S today I too will have a play about and see :)
