I'm new to the Galaxy S2. Can somebody help me with charges please?
How do I know when I'm being charged minutes?
Is it possible to turn off the possibility of being charged, and yet have the phone still 'live' for any incoming calls?
If I use the GPS for eg a two hour drive, I know the GPS does not cost, but isn't it downloading from Google Maps all the while and does that cost me 120 minutes for a two hour drive?
Any help with these points very much appreciated.

You don't get charged minutes only by the amount of data you use:)

You can turn the data off from the power button menu or use an app and turn it on when you want to use it.

Also in, Settings > Accounts and Settings > Untick Background data and Auto-sync. This should minimize data used:)

Download 3g watchdog from android, it's free and shows your current and predicted usage against your allowance.
