Recently got my SGS2 and loving it so far with the exception of the sound playback through my earphones. Anyhow I discovered Voodoo Control Plus and really want to install it to see if it improves my overall music playing experience.

Now I know I need to root my phone however I found out that I also need to install a custom kernel which supports Voodoo (thanks goots!) Now I'm fairly good with technology but this is advanced stuff for me and being a goodie iphone user the last few years, have never looked at modifying things like this before.

Any advice on what kernel to use? Ideally I want to change as little about my phone as possible for now until I have a chance to properly research all this stuff however Voodoo sounds too good of an app to pass up.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Looking at the site for Voodoo it does state that standard kernels work providing I have root while you don't need root for custom kernels.. I'm confuzzled! Might be easier for me just to ask for the easiest least dangerous way of getting Voodoo to work on my phone?

Hi Senden. I haven't really done the research but to my knowledge, Voodoo Kernel is for SGS1. I don't think there is such a thing for SGS2 (yet). Others can correct me if I'm wrong.

But don't worry too much about it. Give it some more time and there will be some terrific Custom Roms out there that will fix the little niggles like this that people have. It's still such a new phone.
