hi just got my new galaxy s today. qite complicated but getting there slowly. had i8510 before. in the about phone area then status it shows a display called uptime. does that mean i am connected to the internet (and being billed) or is it something eles. thanks

uptime is just how long the phones been turned on for.
if youre worried about the internet connecting in the background and charging you, you can download APNdroid, and with a click toggle internet access on and off. of course while its off nothing will be able to access the internet, not even google services, calls however will both come in and out.
