Hi,
Im having an issue with MP3 playback on a stock galaxy s2. Music plays for almost an entire track, then crashes (phone plays notification tone, the signal meter shows a circle with a line through it and the media scanner starts up) Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks
I have the same problem. It's getting to be quite frustrating...
the software version is KE4

Not seen this but I've been using poweramp. Not a solution I know but maybe worth a try, or the new Fede's music app.

I was playing about last night, and found that if you play music via the "Music Hub" instead of the "Music player" mp3s play back to back with no errors (Music Hub, My music, My Galaxy Music)
Can you try this and see if it works for you also?
I know it's not ideal, but I think I can put up with it until a proper fix is identified!
Thanks
I will test it this way today and post the results then.

rake,
Did you have any luck with this?
I didn't test "Music hub" - it doesn't meet my UI expectations as for a music player...
still have the problem with system restarting during music playback... I don't know what to do, to be honest. I'm thinking about giving it back on warranty terms.

Did you try a factory reset or firmware update? Worth a quick go before replacing.
The first thing I did was an update of firmware to the latest avaiable version (kies shows KE4 as the newest one).
Today I installed PowerAMP player - will test it for couple of days and see if the problem still occurs.

I'd be interested in seeing the results of your tests! At first, I thought it was because of the headphones that I was using (beats by dre) but I also travel a lot and noticed it happened a lot when I went in and out of the no reception zone (tube). Mine doesn't even wait until the end of a song, it's quite frustrating as I threw away my old iPhone and migrated all music across!

you can try to convert the audio for galaxy s 2, i know a tool, which is named FoxReal video converter, in fact, it's shareware for converting videos, however, i find it can convert audios for free, you just need downloading the trial version, then add your audio file, next, choose the audio format that can be played well by galaxy s2
So did anybody work out this issue yet? I have the exact same problem, play a song, maybe 2 and then the phone will reboot.
Hmn, funny thing - I didn't test PowerAMP yet.
Did the other thing. I've launched kies and "unsynchronised" all the music I previously synchronised with my SGS2.
Then I just made a new directory named "Music" in main directory of phones memory and simply copied some mp3 albums as they were (sorted in directories). The stock player sees all the music the way it should and i didn't experience any restart since then. So it appears, that synchronising music with use of Kies is cause of the problem here.
