Hello there, i'm new to android and i just got my SGS2 a few days ago. Migrating from the nokia n900, there were some apps there that i feel are "missing" on the SGS.
One of them was called "autodisconnect" on the n900. Basically it disconnected bluetooth,3g and wifi automatically when there was no activity/traffic on them for a certain amount of set time. So my first question is this: is there any app that basically does this on the android platform? I was told that JuiceDefender did something simmilar, so i bought JD ultimate, but it didn't answer to my expectations.
Many thanks

Really? What was Juice defender missing? I used to use it all the time on the SGS1. I haven't bothered with the SGS2. I thought it was excellent.

With jd it sets the wifi and 3g to off when screen is off but stkill allows it to connect for email checking etc.
It turns wifi it 3g in when the screen is on. I never found a way to have it turn it akk off except when needed.
However, jd doubled my battery life. I don't use it anymore as my battery lasts king enough in it's own most days unless I am using the phone alot more than normal and gaming as well.

I'm not sure if you're got the hang of what Juice Defender does then. It's actually very customisable and you bought ultimate which makes it even more so. Juice Defender turns all the Data off when the screen locks. It then turns it back on for 30 seconds every 15 minutes (by default), to allow normal syncing of your emails and then it switches it back off again until the next time it's ready to sync. Personally I think that is quite a brilliant idea. You can change it to only let it sync every 2 hours if you like (how often would you leave your screen locked more than 2 hours anyway). You could even set the night mode (turns all data off for the duration specified) to run all day/night if you wish which would do the job you are after of turning it off completely. Just make sure you have indeed downloaded and installed Juice Defender and the Juice defender Ultimate Add-on. Otherwise, it won't be as customisable.
