As great as this is (and I'm happy for other people to pilot this :P) I doubt I'll be overclocking my SGS2 until it starts to feel slow. And by then, I'll probably be getting a new phone anyway. Still, always good to push boundaries, eh?

I'll give it a whirl :) Once the dev's improve the I/O writes this phone will be clocking over 5k I think

Just making it over 4000 for some reason it doesn't seem to clock up much. What CPU governor are people using? Interactive?

I overclocked my N900 and played around with lots of settings.
Its great to see the overclocking potential explored, but of no interest to me - for two reasons.

1st my SGS2 does sometimes get warm on standard speed.
2nd I finally have a phone that is as fast and smooth, as the speeded up tv ads make them appear:cool::);)

You might be interesting in underclocking it then ??? :)

I bet peoples phones will overheat and break within a few days of now.

what im doing, is setting 1200 max, 200 min ondemand, 1.2ghz is really instant at everything it does already, but if i feel like i want more power, ill switch to 1504 performance

The phone generally sits at 200mhz. Rather than overclocking it, maybe a better option would be to adjust the threshold that it increases the clock speed. I did this on the N900 and it made a huge difference to things like UI judder.

Its default was to clock up when it got to about 95% CPU usage, but I set mine to go up when it hit 75%.

You can set like 200 min and 800 max to save some battery if your running low. I noticed that at 800Mhz its still smooth. 500mhz can be a little laggy. That would stop the phone from going to max power requiring more volts.
