: [SGS II] SGS2 and Billion Router

I have two wireless routers at home, a Zyxel and a Billion 7800N, with my HD2, it could connect to either router with no problems, my SGS2 will not connect to the Billion, my wife's iphone connects fine to either as well. I have tried every setting you can imagine on the Billion router to get the SGS2 to connect but no luck. My SGS2 connects fine to the Zyxel but when that is out of range, it should connect to the Billion, it WILL NOT, even if I am right next to the router! It says connecting . . . and then stops connecting. I have tried fixed IP on the phone as well - no luck!
Has anyone out there got a Billion 7800N that is working with their SGS2? Anyone got any suggestions?

Richardj 05-11-2011, 11:42 AM It depends on how you have your router set up. On mine I have to put the phones mac address into the routers mac address filtering, then on the phone I have to enter the password I have.
Silly Man 05-11-2011, 12:03 PM I have tried disabling ALL security on my router and still not getting in, I have changed to channel, the protocol (802.11g-only, n-only, b-only, and all combinations of them). I am at wits end! Is it possible my phone is faulty? RichardJ, do you have the same router?

What I did was to tell the phone to forget the connection, rebooted the router(leave router off for 60 seconds) and phone, start WiFi on the phone and put in the information when asked.

I have raised the white flag, phoned mobiles.co.uk and I am swapping out the phone. No wireless in my own house is not a great situation to be in.

I've been going through exactly the same pain with a Samsung Galaxy S and a billion 7800N, with it continuously trying to obtain an IP address, but have now have managed to solve it - so I thought I had better post the solution even though I may be a bit late for you.
Firstly my router is flashed to 1.06d firmware. On the Billion router in the advanced wireless page, there is an option to use the router as a DNS server, this needs to be turned off. In the primary and secondary DNS server fields in advanced wireless page copy the same IP address as your ADSL Primary and Secondary DNS servers. If ADSL is set to find DNS servers automatically, you can find what they are by looking at the ADSL status in the Advanced section.
Once you have set the wireless DNS servers to the same as your ADSL ones, you should be able to obtain an IP Address on the Galaxy S. :)
