app updated as of 5/29
SGS2 THREAD NEEDS TO ADD A HACKING SECTION CAUSE SORAXD IS BALLIN@@

alrighty, so this is what this app will do, please remember its still a work in progress, this is v2, if you notice any bugs post them here, or hit me up with a PM.

what it does: removes battery limit, can use camera even if youre at 0%
no sounds, removes unmutable shutter sound, and auto focus sound

currently working on: allowing camera to be loaded without stopping music

what to do

SOO, be rooted, and get Root Explorer

download this file ~~fancy download link here~~ (http://www.multiupload.com/MUR1H1VR9B)

using Root Explorer, go to system/app and find Camera.apk and Camera.odex, delete them
using Root Explorer, move this app to system/app
now rename the hacked camera app "Camera.apk" just long press it
reboot, done

*if you would like to be able to restore the origional app, instead of deleting camera.apk and camera.odex simply rename them to something like "Camera.apk.old" or anything after the .apk and .odex so that the system will no longer read them as an app

*if permissions to delete or rename anything is blocked, just click Mount in the top right corner

please use this and tell me your results

Nice any chance just to add the beta soraxd camera apk here? I could have done with that 15% battery limit removed today... No hacking section, just all under Android Dev now to make things easier.

Great, we have some real development / hacks here :) I'm going to rename the thread title to something people will understand and suits the hacked camera app :)

Why don't you name it 'Soraxd is crazy and scary and has a new camera app'?

Works for me. ;)

Not yet. Just a small point on your guide - it's probably worth changing

"using Root Explorer, go to system/app and find Camera.apk and Camera.odex, delete them"

and saying to rename them instead, just in case anything goes wrong.

If you want to get rid of the shutter sound, create a file in /data called local.prop and add the line "ro.camera.sound.forced=0" and restart your phone. This removes both the shutter sound and the focus sound when your phone is on silent, but keeps the sound when it's not on silent.

Though obviously that doesn't affect the main point of this modified camera app - to remove the <15% thing. Out of interest, is there not a simpler way? For example, the forced camera sound is a variable in the local.prop file, would there be something similar for power saving?

can someone redo the changes on the camera from ke7 as this is obviously not that version as it was out 5/8 and ke7 didnt come out till 5/19
there were many changes/improvements inthe ke7 firmware camera apk

alright, its nice to see someones actually interested in this, ive updated the apk in the thread, so if you download it now it will work

also if you want a way to restore the origional app, instead of deleting the files, simply rename them something like Camera.apk.old (just add anything after the .apk and it wont register as an app anymore in the system files)
