Hi,
I got the Samsung Galaxy S ii yesterday and i'm a bit puzzled by the Samsung Apps updates.
Firstly there was an update for Retail Mode for Samsung Galaxy S ii. I couldn't find this app installed, so i downloaded the update anyway.
Now there is 1 update in Samsung Apps. When I click to show this, it says "No Data"

Any ideas of either how to see this update, or get rid of the "one update" ?

thanks
MikeJJ

I've got the same thing, think it's a bug. Don't seem to be able to uninstall Samsung Apps either.

I don't have an SGS 2 yet but I saw the Retail View app for download too. People should be careful of this especially if you don't have an SGS 2.

The app is useless as it's for selling purposes, not sure why it's been made available for everyone? Read the app market bit before using.

You'd think that but I think Samsung's apps are baked into the image - there's no uninstall option in the app manager.

On Gingerbread on SGS, in the App Drawer/Screen press options button and there could/should/might be an edit button? Does it show minus signs on each of the app icons? If so press the minus symbol to uninstall.

Has anyone figured this out yet? I tried installing the retail view to get rid of it but still had the one there. Deleted it and now 2 are there again.

As I've pointed out previously (and was derided for my sins!), the Samsung Apps app, on Android, is buggy.

The more mature Bada works like this:

Bada: An update circle will only appear when there is an update to an installed Samsung app. When you click on the "1 update available" banner, it takes you to the Downloads screen which lists apps you've downloaded (naturally) and updates - which usually appear at the top.

Android: It is slowly improving in that the app is working as above aside from the fact that ANY app with no valid Category (as listed in the Categories tab) appears as an update irrespective of whether it's installed or not.

As I say, since my original rantings, Samsung have correctly categorized most apps and they have disappeared from the Downloads screen. Watch carefully, as there are some valid updates therein (Asphalt 5 and Task Manager, for example).

I haven't bothered emailing them with these damning facts yet as I haven't got around to it, what with the burgeoning male modelling career and Eurovision Song Contest entry, but I will.
