I love my Samsung galaxy s2, Problem is the battery life is really poor. I have done all the usual stuff to prolong battery life i.e screen brightness down wifi off auto syncing to a minimum. I also googled this and found that if you turn off turn to mute that should help.
One thing that is bugging me is on the battery usuage screen (homescreen>settings>aboutphone>battery usage) its displaying android system 55% which i can kind of understand its also displaying dialler 42%. It was saying 43% at first until i turned off the turn to mute function which by doing that it has saved me 1% lol.
What else can I do to prolong battery life? Why is the android system and dialler draining 97% of my battery, is this right?
any tips or advice would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

Do these stats not show what has been using your battery overall not what is currently draining it? It seems that would make more sense, so 42% of your usage would be phone calls..

Im not sure what these stats are for maybe they are for past use im not sure.
Thing is I have hardly made any calls because I have been off of work and haven't had to use it that much. Probably explains the android system being on 55% tho, because I have done nothing but play with it since I got it on wednesday.

my samsung galaxy s 2 battery hardly goes down it only starts to drain when using social hub or tap talk.just use a app killer to stop programmes running when you dont need them to this could help you i use superbox you can find it in the market place it can free memory up and also close any apps.or also if you save to phone you can change so you can save them to your sd card so you dont use all your space up

The most important thing is that you take care of the battery itself. Battery life should increase over time and be better after a month or so.
Also, don't go by what the battery meter says, but how long it takes to fully discharge. While you shouldn't regularly fully discharge the battery, I'd recommend doing it once to calibrate the battery meter.

Could you elaborate on this please. How is best to look after the battery. Can it be charged whenever without a memory effect and is it bad to use the phone while it is charging?

Should be fine to use the phone while it's charging.
Basically, you should fully charge and discharge a phone once in a while, however generally you should not do it regularly. So the best thing really is:
1. Fully discharge and recharge the battery once
2. After that, avoid full discharges and charge whenever you feel like it

Thankyou! I do have a tendency to run it down, will try to not do that.

Have you looked to see the apps which use the most memory? I used this to pinpoint Flash 10.2 as the cause of my battery problems.
