I know this question has been asked so many times but please humour me, I upgraded on Orange to the Galaxy S from the samsung omnia i8910hd and I love the device except that no matter what i do i cant get more than 11hrs out of the battery, I do listen to the radio all day at work but this should not drain the battery. I have downloaded various apps to try and help with the problem (advance task manager,battery dr etc) and cleared ALL my add on apps from my homescreen, shutdown wifi, bluetooth, gps and the screen brightness is vitually at zero. Any HELP on this matter will be greatly appreciated and any advice on GOOD/DECENT APPS to download would also be greatly recieved (there are SO MANY!!!!!!!!!). Many thanks jb :)

hi , i have a vibrant that wont boot past the samsung/vibrant screen,, i can get to cecover mode but then when i reinstalls packs it errors with file not found ,i tried oden and kies but it wont take any drivers ,,i can also get it to download screen but with the same problem device not detected or any of the drivers i have found on line wont run,, is this something that can be fixed or is it a nice brick now?,, any one know of some drivers that will work for this ?

Help my keyboard is broken

Now when I use the 3x4 keyboard on the letters its only typing numbers help I only can use this keyboard I don't like the full one.
How can this be fixed?

I have the same problems and really miss the 3x4 keybaord. Is there a way to get this back at all?

not sure where to post this really, (mods remove if needs be) its not a huge problem but i'm on Darkys 10.2.2 with tweaked robbielicious theme, my internal sd card is showing as 5.37gb used of 5.78 sure this want this full before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

real sorry bout this guys. yes i am a newbie here. But im just throwing out my question coz ive searched for days not hours. And obviously I suck. My daughters GT-I9000T has had too many attempts from myself of course and when I put in recovery mode....the volume rocker wont scroll through the recovery menu.....but for some reason the only option that will work in the menu is the reboot. can some1 please help me. I am lost with a capital "REALLY".

Have you ever updated your phone using Samsung Kies (Galaxy companion software for PC) or Odin?

No I havent. Should I do this? When opening my Android Market it take a long time to load. Would this fix it?

I got my phone on Ebay. Do you think it may be a fake? Everything else works perfectly. Do you think restarting my phone may fix the slow internet problem?

From what I know the SGSII firmware had an update with in a week or 2 of being released. Internet, GPS and such like still needs software to utilise the service so updating will most likely effect it one way or another.

Edit: Ebay, ok different story. Try updating using Kies if you can't get an update then....

....Where do you live (country)? and dial *#1234# this should give you your firmware information. What network provider is simcard linked to?

It looks like your on Australian firmware but most results I found were Telstra related. That could explain why your data signal is bad.

The general suggestion is that you will be waiting forever for an update, a little further on there is a link to the XDA forum for another thread that may help if you want to flash firmware.

Well it The phone was with Telstra but I unlocked it. Like when I turn the phone off it displays the Telstra logo etc.
So your saying that there isnt much I can do to fix this?

You should have a legit phone but the firmware may be Telstra's firmware which may explain why some functions do not work as well as they should do.

Can't start a new thread so I'm asking here:

The vibration is way too weak to be felt for notifications for some reasons. (Worked fine before) It still vibrates alright when someone calls, it's just text or apps like whatsapp.

I have been googling for it for a while and I realised there are some other people having this issue, yet still haven't found a solution that works.

Any input will be appreciated, thank you!

Have you changed the vibration intensity?

Menu > Settings > Sound > Vibration Intensity

It's on max already and I don't think it has anything to do with vibrations for notifications right?

The vibration intensity is the general setting for all vibration.

Whatsapp also has a vibration option on the settings menu.

Other than that I'm not too sure. If the vibration is weak just on certain alerts then it's not a hardware fault. Have you upgraded your phone's firmare/software recently?

No, the phone's fairly new, only few apps installed. And then again it vibrates just fine receiving calls, so I'm not really sure what the problem is here.

Screen shot image attached. There's a letter "t" that keeps on appearing every time I open my camera and gallery. I tried viewing the setting and all that stuff but couldn't seem to figure out which one has been changed from my previous settings. I thought it was a logo from one of the apps I downloaded but when I took the app out by uninstalling it, the "t" is still there. I even clicked on reset on my camera settings thinking it would remove it.

Have you guys encountered this and what would be the solution?

hi,
I have downloaded .apk files for assasin creed and splinter cell. My external sd card has about 1.5 gb of free space.
Then also after installing the apk files the app says that it cannot find free space to download the data from internet.
I think it is trying to install the data file on the internal card (as it is on samsung galaxy s).
\Can some one suggest on how to resolve thiss.

I was wondering if anyone know how i can fix my problem with i9001. The problem is that the volume is very low when i speak with people. I can barely hear what they say, especially if theres a little bit noise around me. I have maxed the volume with the button on the side of my phone, during calls, but volume is still too low. How can i increase this volume?

I know this setting, and it doesnt max it anymore than i do via the volume button on the side while im talking to someone. Is there some MMI code or something i can use to make incall volume louder?

First off, good evening to fellow galaxy users.
Yesterday i bought a galaxy S scl (model gt-i9003). Kies asked me to upgrade the phone. My device now carry a firmware version 2.3.5.
The update messed up the menu bar, like showed in the pic below. The right pic shows the bar before the upgrade; it was very smooth. The left pic is the bar now, it shows a very pronounced posterized effect. I made it in photoshop to give you the idea, the actual bar on my phone looks a lot worse. I tried to fix the problem in the display settings with no success.
Is this normal?

I wouldn't think it's normal but if it is software related then a Factory Reset may solve it. It's usually the answer for a lot of things, especially after updating Kies. If that doesn't work then flashing the firmware again manually may work.

Alternatively if you don't want to go through all of that you could try a 3rd party launcher from the market place?

Anyway... Hello all,
I do my best to not join forums for one question. However, in all my goole searching I've only come across one other person having my problem with no good answers. Between 9am and 10am yesterday(2-21-2013) while browsing automotive forums the images started to not load or were unrecognized. They'ed be there and then upon revisit to the page they'd disapear. This has happened to pretty much every forum I'm on. There are however a few images that DO show up but its really spotty. Contacted the forums support to see if they were experiencing any issues, they weren't. Tried on pc, images show. Tried on SGS3 images show. Tried on my wifes SGS1... same issue. I've checked my phone, says its up to date. I also thought about a possible app (tapatalk) for the forums, some of the auto forums arent up to date on that, so thats a no go. Is there a browser/phone update that I can force? I'm at a loss here. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Open your browser and press settings. Go to "Bandwidth Management" and check if "Load Images" is checked.

Thanks for the fast reply. I did try that and its still checked. Tried unchecking and rebooting, then rechecking and rebooting again. Tried a hard reset and leaving the battery out for an hour. Just talked to a couple coworkers with sgs1's and they are having the same issue.

Must be an issue with the stock browser on the S then. Try Chrome off play or Dolphin browser......

Holy smokes this is annoying. I really appreciate your help but the problem persists... I down loaded Dolphin and still having the same issue even after a reboot. Chrome isnt compatible with this sgs1 model. (Pulling hair out!)

Only other thing I can think of is checking you haven't ticked anything in developer options (GPU rendering etc), otherwide we need someone on stock SGS1 f/w to come along......

Okay for the sake of other people out there... thank you for your suggestion. The only browser that I got to work was my least favorite... firefox. But it DOES WORK!

I'm currently using sgs2 with stock gingerbread. My problems are, whenever i reboot my phone, it seems to back to specific state. E.g i tried to install an app, and when i rebooted it, it backs to a specific state. Somewhat like deep frezee. It happens as well when i tried to format everything , manually delete everything etc. But when i reboot it, it will back to the state before.
Already tried factory reset and unchecked restore backup settings. Usually, something like this only works on settings right? But its really nonsense when i deleted 8 gigs of file then i do a format/reboot, the 8 gigs files came up again like nothing has happened. Never faced something like this before, help is much appreciated :)
